Rc 2" And Bilstein 5100 Adjustable

Recommended Posts

I already have the RC 2" leveling kit on my truck and i am wondering if i can run the bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks to maybe lift the front end up another inch without doing any harm. I am wanting to run some 305/55/20 without them rubbing to bad i do not want to have to cut any metal. Is anyone running the RC and bilsteins is it a bad idea? Could i clear those tires?

Thats kinda like double stacking and quite frankly I wouldn't go much over 2" anyways for lift. If you need more lift to clear the tires, then add a body lift. Otherwise, your asking for trouble and it seems like those who have gone over 3" of lift for the front have had issues with CV's and early ball joint failure.

I'd do 1 or the other but not both. :troll: And be prepared to get out the tiger saw and cutting metal if you go with the 305/55's

I agree its too much level and in the end its still not gonna clear so its a waste... Just run 305/50/20s

How about the 295/55/20 those are pretty much the same size as the 285/70 i am running now would those still rub i am wanting to run a 20x9 xd monster.

On a 2 leveling kit I'm sure those tires will rub on 20x9 +18. They make them in +35 too which will might rub less or not at all (stock is 20x8.5 +31).

Would they rub bad enough where i would have to cut metal you think or could i get away with just trimming some plastic? If it was your truck and you wanted to run some 20's with just a leveling kit and a bit of a beefy tire what would you run?

Others on the broard know a lot more about trimming, but from what I gather trimming plastic doesn't gain much. I actually just ordered Cooper Zeon Ltz 275/60/20 (33s) for $756 shipped and should be installing these this weekend.

My buddy is running 33x12.5r20 Kumho M/T on factory Tahoe wheels with a leveling kit and no rubbing.

Like mentioned above, do not lift your front end anymore. Even if you did it, those tires would still require you to cut metal. Stay with what you have and go with a 275/60/20. Also, don't get the +35 offset. I would be concerned that your tires would rub the sway bar.

What do you think about the 295/55/20 those measure 32.78x11.61 i would think i would be fine running those right now my 285/70 measure 32.71x11.22 the worse case i would think i would have to trim some plastic? Have you seen any guys running these tires with the leveling kit. Thanks for your help

They may but you have to consider the variances in acutal tire size depending on the manufacturer. Nitto Trails for example, in a 295/55/20, measure out to 32.91 x 12.52. And those tires would most likely require you to cut metal. 275/60 is what I would get.
