Has anyone ever tried to partially level/lift their truck with a body lift? I believe my crew cab would take 8 lift blocks, 4 on each side. What if you cut the lift blocks, for instance: in the front you would leave them at 3" the next would be cut down to 2.75, the next 2.5" and rear cut down to 2.25". You could even taper the blocks to contour the truck. These numbers are a guestiment, further thought would have to be put into it. Just wanted to see what you guys thought. This would be for my style truck (2005) where the frame doesn’t show that much. It would look worse on some other styles.

Pros: Not as much adjustment on torsion bars to level. :)

Cons: Frame and body would not be on the exact same plane?

Why not just do a 3" body lift and remove the rear blocks or install lowering shackles to make the truck level?

I'm guessing you don't want the torsion bars cracked and making it ride rougher.

Don't really want to crank the torsion bars to much, b/c it tears all the front end stuff up. At least that is what i have read and it seems reasonable. Would hate to lower it with shackles after raising it, but thats an idea. Just wanted to leave the suspension as stock as possible b/c GM knew what they were doing when they designed it. :) (yes then i go wanting to raise it) This was just an idea that i had and at work we have a machine shop so i could make my own body lift farely easy.

The rake is in there from the factory so the truck is level when towing. If you don't need the rake then simply remove your rear block to level the truck (I think you have them).

I wouldn't mess with tapered body lift blocks. Seems the bolts holes wouldn't line up and if the blocks ever shifted the cab could get badly damaged.
