Torsion Bar Adjustment

Recommended Posts

So I've read a few post on here about torsion bar adjustment and decided to go a max of 2''. The pic i put in is of my truck before i did any adjusting. I raised both sides 1.5'' and the passenger side bolt is maxed out?? The driver's side bolt still has about .5-.75'' of adjustment left. I did the driver's side first. The truck is near level, maybe slightly lower in the front. I just purchased the truck, but the guy i bought it from says he didn't adjust anything and with the rake i believed him. Also, does anybody know the height of the stock rear blocks? Does anybody have any suggestions?

thanks

RJ

I went through the same thing with my 05, but I only got 1" before maxxing out. I ended up getting a 2" kit with new keys and a set of add-a-leafs for the rear. Ive still got a 1.5" rake, but it looks better being a little taller.

The rear block is 2" from what I can remember.

Ide say go with the 2" but look for one with leafs because you dont want the extra torque applied to your rear springs that a taller block will cause.

Guys, thanks for your input. I do want it sitting high and do care about my front end parts, that is why i was going to do a max of two inches. The way it sits now is fine as far as being level, but it worries me that the bolts aren’t even close to having the same adjustment and that one side is maxed out.

thanks

RJ

Thats normal for the sides to "settle" differently. I've seen it many times. Don't stress it. :)
