For Those Interested In -12 Offset Rims

On the way home, I saw a NNBS Sierra parked with DIck Cepek Dc-2's on it.. So I decided to get out and take a look to see what size tires and if there was anything trimmed out for them....First thing though, this truck did NOT have a lift at all on it, there may have been a level kit, but it didnt look like it...So I first checked the tire size.. LT 265/70/17, so he stayed the stock size, and it really didnt look that bad to be honest... Next I checked for any kind of rubbing...NONE what so ever... I looked into the Dick Cepeks for myself, and found they only come in a -12 offset in a 6 x 5.5" so I figured they wouldnt work, but I guess as long as you stay with the stock tire size you are good to go... They really didnt even stick out that much.. I was really surprised... Here are some pics..

  • 3 weeks later...

Had one put on mine today to check the fitment with the DC2's and 285/70/17's and they rub just a little on the rear of the tire well near the tab for the fender well. Have decided that I'm going to put them all on tomorrow and trim what I have too if needed.

Are you putting DC2's on yours , or are you getting the 285's on the cannons??....What kind of level/lift kit do you have??

Did it seem like you will need to cut the metal part of the fender or just the plastic??

Id love to be able to fit 285's on and not have to cut metal...

Let us know what you had to do...VERY INTERESTED!!

DC2's should be on tomorrow :) The Canons had 285's on them but thats my old truck. I have a 09 Crew Cab now that I put 20's on it and have decided I like more tire.

I have the RC kit on the front.

Not sure what mods I might have to do but it didn't seem like much. They were mostly rubbing at almost full turn on the plastic. I will let you know after I get it done. Pics too

Didnt know you got a new truck... I must be reading your OLD posts...lol

I cant wait to see what you have to do, as it seems ever wheel I like has a 0 or -12 offset and most say you cant run them without major surgery with 285's.. What brand of tires are you getting??

Better keep posting now.. I need to know how its gonna turn out .... lol.... This could be the answer to months of aggravation of trying to find a wheel that would "fit" and I like...
