Removed Factory Blocks Today

Well had a little time today so I took out the factory blocks

 

I reused the factory U-Blots for now and will change them later there was a couple of threads messed up where the dirt sits in the bottom brackets and only a couple of threads left after snugging them up being that I have 40k miles on these when I get in from offshore they will be changed

 

It was very simple to do put the jack in front of the axel on the leaf spring loosen all the nuts but leave them on the U-Bolts and then slowly jack the spring up until you can pull the block out I also removed the U-Bolts one at a time and wire brushed all the grime out of the threads

 

I can notice the rear is lower while driving now and the front is exactly one inch lower than the rear

nice.. I have gone back and forth for months on whether or not to do a leveling kit up front or drop the rear to level it it. Being a 2wd and adding to that the fact that I'll likely never tow anything heavier than a jet-ski, I think doing this mod and just dropping the back an inch or so will be the better choice for me. I personally am one of the few on this site that prefers big wheels to big tires as well so this will look better when I put 24's on at the end of the summer.
