The Black Tie Event Goes Camping.

I went camping and biking this weekend. The truck was perfect for it. Hauled 3 guys, 3 bikes, 3 days worth of firewood and gear.

As far as the trip in the truck goes; everyone was comfortable and with the new rack we hauled everything easily. However, I guess, the added wind resistance and wheight cost me close to 2 mpg. Lots of hilly, steep interstate. I was really wanting a tune or a 5.3.

Douthat State Park is great. We camped just out of the park and rode for 3 days. The lake is not great for bank fishing but with better weather I'm sure we could have gotten a few on the bank.

The weather basically sucked but a having a good time and suceeding through a little adversity makes it even better.

Here's some pics.

Looks like a great weekend! I just got out for my first spin tonight, cant wait to hit the single track! Still snow in the bush here, be awhile before it dries out. Looks like that rack worked out great!

It was a great time, and the bike rack did fine. We were expecting rain so we were ready for it.

The aluminum tubing for the back crossbars is too flexible and the wingnuts need re-engineered. I will upgrade to super strut on the back and I think maybe a toggle nut on a knob will work to secure them.

looks like a great time! there certainly is no feeling like gettin up in the mountains and just riding around and havin a good time with your friends! bet the fog was a fun adventure too  haha

Yeah, the fog made for some Old School map and compass work. If it wasn't within 40 ft, It wasn't there. Absolutly no landmarks.
