power steering pump replacement tips

I busted my power steering pump last night in a muddy ditch and was wondering if you guys had any tips on replaceing one on a HD with the 6.6L. This truck is very hard to steer and brake without the power steering,hope to have one here thurs. and was wanting a few tips. thanks

Sorry-can't give you any tips on replacement.  Haven't had to on mine (yet).

 

But, out of curiosity, what part of the pump failed?
