Bought my Zaino from them and got a brochure. May be worth looking at.

EBC BRAKES Kevlar  "Greenstuff" Brake Pads!

AT LAST...... a high performance sport brake pad that can be used on the highway without the drawbacks of a full race pad! Braking comes on strong from first pedal application, delivering maximum performance right up to a blistering 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. You can use these for relatively low speed track days, but the lifetime should be monitored closely. Greenstuff pads are British made, using special materials combined with Dupont Kevlar fibers, at extremely competitive prices. Unlike other pads, these contain no carbon black or metallics which create dust, generally squeak or make noise, and can cause increased wear or other rotor problems. These are the ULTIMATE performance driving pads, running CLEAN, QUIET, and ready for heavy-duty action with up to 30% more friction than normal. Available for most popular USA built sports cars and imports. Call today regarding your specific application!

NO NOISE! * ALMOST NO DUST! * UP TO 30% MORE STOPPING POWER!

EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE PRICES!

EBC BRAKES "Redstuff" Pads!

A semi-metallic track pad for heavier street use, or light duty track days. Slightly lower friction level than the Greenstuff pads, but they deliver strong, "fade free" stopping power up to a blistering 1300 degrees F. Always check pad wear before returning from track days on public roads. Better yet, have a spare EBC set and change pads before highway use!

Yellowstuff pads offer a similar application as the Redstuff, but with longer life. Their best effect is from 150 degrees to 1500 degrees. But still..... zero rotor damage. Definitely a RACE pad and not recommended for street use.

Bluestuff pads are again similar to Redstuff or Yellowstuff, but offer still HIGHER wear life in the 150 to 1500 degree range. This could be classified as an "endurance" racing pad.

EBC BRAKES has been the number one choice for sport motorcycle brakes the world over for 21 years. In the USA, these brake products have become the standard by which all others are judged, with sales of literally millions of pad sets for high performance motorcycles. The same, advanced Kevlar technology has now been applied to the automotive market, bringing you the best in modern sport brakes for high performance cars, and soon trucks.

Why Kevlar?

This world famous Dupont fiber is used in bulletproof vests and the Space Shuttle. Very expensive, but it’s an excellent binding fiber, low abrasive, non-metallic and therefore, CLEANER and easier on rotors. The Kevlar is six times as strong as steel when used in a brake pad in "matrix" form. Kevlar or Twaron pads are never the cheapest, but often the best!

What Causes Brake Dust?

As lower cost brake pads wear or "carbonize" at the higher temperatures found in braking, dust is released. Most pad manufacturers use materials that cause this dust in their pads. EBC "Greenstuff" contains NONE of these materials, so the pads run MUCH cleaner. Plus, Greenstuff will not carbonize until temperatures as high as 900 to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, so in normal street use dust is almost entirely eliminated. EBC Greenstuff won the 1999 UK "Autotrade Magazine " INNOVATION AWARD for their clean running, high performance features!

Brake "Fade" Explained!

All pads contain some organic materials. The resins used to bind pad compounds together are organic "petro-chemical" products. As these overheat, the resins revert to gas and cause the pads to "aquaplane" on a gas film, which is called "fade". Cheaper pads may suffer from continual dynamic fade, sometimes at surprisingly low temperatures.

About Brake Temperatures!

Temperatures between the pad and disc do not normally exceed 700 degrees (F) even in heavy street use. In race use, 900 - 1200 degrees F is common on even on smaller cars, and in racing sedans shoot up to around 1500 degrees, where rotors will glow orange or red. ALWAYS CHOOSE A PAD TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS! NEVER just select a race compound because you think you’re a hot shot. Most race pads need "warm up" and don’t become effective until as much as 350 degrees. NOT a good thing for typical urban traffic conditions. EBC Greenstuff is effective from cold and needs no warm up. Even so, the Greenstuff "feels" stronger as you use the brake harder. We call that "progressive" braking.

Friction Level Explained!

Typical friction levels of OEM street pads generally vary from approximately 0.25 to 0.35 friction factor. EBC Greenstuff has approximately 0.46 friction, and in most cases, users will notice an immediate improvement in "grip". Although friction level is an indicator of brake "torque", it may not necessarily be a guarantee. However, many independent tests in Europe have shown EBC Greenstuff to be one of the most "grippy" compounds on the market today.

Brake Squeal and Noise!

EBC Greenstuff pads have ZERO brake squeal..... period! If they do, send them back. HOWEVER. When using ANY pad on a slotted rotor, during "bed-in" a purring or aeroplaning noise sometimes can be heard. After 200-300 miles, this will disappear. Some noise CAN be encountered soon after fitting new pads if rotor has not been turned and/or is significantly worn.

Pad Lifetime!

Remember that EBC Greenstuff is a much softer, rotor friendly compound, and may not have quite the same life as a harder, dirtier, noisier pad. A lifetime of 10,000 to 20,000 miles is common, but this will vary widely depending on your vehicle and the way you drive it.

Front or Rear Pad Usage!

EBC Greenstuff can be used both front and rear, but do NOT fit to rear unless also using Greenstuff on the front, to avoid possible rear wheel lockup due to increased rear friction.

Rotor Condition!

Take note of this! Scored rotors can extend "bed-in" times by hundreds of miles, plus you will not have maximum effectiveness. Always renew or "scuff" used rotors..... don’t take risks! EBC’s warranty does not cover use on heavily scored rotors. Reduced contact area WILL cause fade and loss of brake power.

Weekend Warriors / Track Days

Many people use the EBC Greenstuff for their street cars, AND at "track days". ALWAYS take a spare set of pads along, maybe even some EBC "Redstuff " in case you need to upgrade at the track for longer life. CHECK YOUR PADS BEFORE THE DRIVE HOME for wear limits. Replace if less than 1/8 inch friction material remains on the steel backplate. EBC Redstuff CAN be used on highways, but this is NOT RECOMMENDED. They are much less responsive than Greenstuff until warm, and will feel more like standard OEM brakes with a friction level of around .32.
