Custom Tune In Kentucky?

i was wondering if anybody on here knows of a good speedshop or someone that has a good reputation? i have a 07 nbs and i really want to get rid of all the lag and torque management and so on.... i live in the richmond/lexington area. anny suggestions?

what is the autocal, and how does it work? how much does it cost? is it a custom tune or a cookie cutter tune?

its a handheld. it is $549 if i remember right. it is a custom tune, Black Bear Performance will mail the hand held to you and give you instructions. you drive around recording and make a log. then you email the file to them. in a few days after they work thier magic you get an email back with tunes. load them on the device and load to your truck. i love mine. it woke the 4.8 up

Pretty much everyone on this forum will reccomend Blackbear. I was was going to send my comp to them to tune but then had a major breakdown and havent been able too.

Black Bear is my choice of tuning as well. Justin is a great guy and certainly knows his stuff. Also there's going to be a tune meet up in pittsburgh on May 13-15. It would be a decent drive, but IMO it'd be well worth it and he can tweak/adjust anything right on the fly while your driving.

 

If not an in-person the autocal is a great option

thats about a 10 hour drive... you never know though do you think the gains from an in-person tune would be better than a autocal? i like the autocal option because from what i understand, i can have a daily/towing tune, performance tune, and stock tune saved onto it, and i can retune for my needs. is this correct?

i have an 04 so my trans tunes are built into my tunes. the newer ones have a separate for engine and trans. i have my stock, 87 sport, 87 towing, 91 sport, 91 towing. speed limiter removed and torque management gone. and my speedo corrected

my truck has the 4L60e tranny just like yours, not the six speed. should be the same on mine right?

new bodies i believe have a separate tranny comupter though. not 100% sure

even wih the 4l60e. some of the other guys can tell you for sure
