Recon Extreme Light Bar

Since this topic has been brought back up, is anyone having trouble with these light bars? Mine works sometimes and sometimes doesn't. Sometimes the running lights stay on, sometimes the reverse lights stay on, but most of the time the whole light does not work at all. It is out of warranty, so I am on my own here, but I just wanted to see if anyone else was having issues.

I had an issue a few wks ago where the running lights (red) stayed on. I ended up replacing the 40 amp fuse and it is fine again.

I can usually remove and reinsert the fuse and it will work for a while, but it happens again after a few days. I finally got tired of doing this and currently am just living with it not working. I was hoping it was maybe a wiring issue but don't see any way I can do it differently.

So i've had mine for about 2 months now. I have the T connector behind the stock trailer plug and the light bar works great, reverse is hooked up to my driver side taillight and also works great. Turn signals work good to. One question though, i never hooked up that 12.volt red wire under the brake master cylinder, how am i getting power back there if everyone else needed to hook up that wire and add a 40amp fuse to get it to work?

No idea, if it isnt hooked up its pretty much impossible to have power.

 

Back in 07-08 they came from the factory already hooked up (I think thats the years). Did they start again? Have you checked to see if it is already hooked up?

I have the Recon light bar with reverse for about 3.5 years now with no issues. I'm trying to remember for sure but I believe mine worked with out the 7-pin power connection under the hood. it just uses the 5-pin adapter and a white wire attached to the reverse wire for the tail lights. I will pull the fuse and check when I get home tonight.

Thanks for all the help. Got red wire hooked up and installed the j-case and I was good to go. Ryan thanks for posting the pics they helped.
