Homebrew FIPK

Well, after realizing that the K&N wasn't nearly worth it for my truck, Ive decided to take a few weeks to design my own cold air intake.

 

Has anyone else executed this project? If so, any tips? Is there anything I should be wary of when designing it?

I saw your other post about the FIPK cost and was wondering if you had considered their "Aircharger Off Road Performance Kit"?  Its not emmissions legal, but its $118.99 compared to $272.99 in the current Jegs catalog.  Just an idea.

I have seen other people that made their own FIPK-type kits, and after installing my K&N FIPK, I think it would be easy.  There was one guy who started selling his own invention.  I wish I still had his website, but I dont....sorry!
