Installed Gmc Bug Deflector

Quick review of GM's bug deflector for 07-up GMC Sierra. I wanted a hood protector or bug deflector for my truck, but most deflectors I saw cover up the top part of the grill. I also didn't want it so obvious I had a hood protector. GM's # 19172039 was the perfect part.

Here is what you get; two clips w/ screws, two rubber bumpers and the deflector with two sided tape:

Before the installation (hood is open):

After (really hard to tell it's on there):

Im glad I put this on, while doing the installation I notice two small rock chips in my hood. This will help protect my hood and also keep my windshield and side mirrors clean when I take those long trips.

Sidenote: GMPartsDirect.com have them on sale for $55

I just came back from the dealer - and requested a car wash after the work completed - they wont wash trucks with the deflector installed - they get ripped off too easy ( your dealer maybe different )

Do they use an automatic car wash? I can see why, it's only hold on with tape and two clips.

Does anybody have a picture of the GM deflector for the Silverado 1500's? I can't find a picture of it and would like to see if it's low-profile like the one for the Sierra. The picture on the GM Accessories site shows it on an HD.

How do these perform at highway speeds behing that they are just clipped on? Any vibration or wobbling you notice?

It pretty solid. The whole deflector is tape on to the hood and at the end you have the clips along with two rubber bumpers.
