what is your favorite part of your truck? i'm not looking for stupid answers like "oh i like my cupholder its superb" but i mean what really hooked you into your current ride? and what things did gm do better then the competition..all 3 brands build good trucks, but when it comes down to the specifics each are unique..

for me i can't get enough of the 5.3 and the gmt-800 look, its both a very well balanced tough motor and the look is very agressive, i looked at dodges and i was turned off by the way the motor handled..i'm just not a big fan of ford, never really liked the looks and it seems like everyone of them i see that is worked knocks like mad

also what do you see yourself driving in the future?

I got GMT-900, I don't have many options, but I really like how the all the lights come on when you turn the truck off, and stay on for a minute or so its pretty handy, also how the radio stays on too until you open the door.

I also like how you can turn the "lights on" feature off, by hitting the "dome off" button, just incase I want to be stealthy....

 I also really like the cup holders, the one in the door is poorly positioned though, window winder gets in the way....

I dislike how there is no way to drive with my headlights turned off though...

electric folding mirrors..

best feature of the truck, I can fold them when I park (would be more awesome if they did it automatically when parking brake set like the MBZ does) or I can fold them in narrow alleys or roads.. or as I have on 2 occasions when someone on a motorcycle is lane splitting and nearly took them mirrors out..

are you sure? on my 2010 AV if I click the light switch to the left, 1 past AUTO it will turn all the lights off.. it's a momentary switch, you turn it and it springs back, but all the lights go off.

I could do all of that with my '01 and my current '06 and agree it is quite a nice feature for someone who works at night and lights completely blind me when they turn on so I have them set to not come on. FYI you should be able to set how long your head lights stay on after you turn the ignition off (through the DIC i believe) on my '06 i think the max is 2 or 3 minutes if you wanted them to stay on longer. What I like about your model is that unlike mine a passenger can open the door and the radio stays on it only cuts off after 10 minutes or the driver's door is opened up

You turn the lights off by moving the knob on the left that has auto, running lights, head lights (i don't remember the icons just what they stand for) all the way to the left (counter clock wise) and it will turn your lights off. I'm assuming you want to do this to not wake up people in the house and not for actual driving on the road? :-D

My needs are relative simple I like the dual trip which apparently they took off for the new trucks. I use them constantly. Heated seats are nice for my lower back pains but not really a must

I got the GMT900: I love how they squared up the front of the truck, so it looks kinda close to my previous '85. The 5.3L V8 is a wonderful motor, love the power. I also like how much higher up the 2wd is than its predecessors; ground clearance is always a good thing. I also liked the tie down loops inside the bed, VERY handy.

6.6l duramax.......

And that fact that I can drive with my lights off although I'm in Canada......but no I don't drive with the lights off. ;)

(my truck was an US vehicle, and despite the fact the DRL were installed when the vehicle was imported, I can still turn off the lights...unlike 'Canadian' vehicles with DRL, they can not).

.....oh yeah, and I also liked the fact that a big GMC topkick Schwan's truck doesn't have a bigger GMC emblem than I do. I got one off of a wrecked truck thinking "I'll put the big GMC grille emblem on" I held it up to the factory emblem on my truck; lo, and behold.... my 1/2 ton's emblem was larger!? Crazy.

No that does not work unless I'm in PARK.

Yeah I do want them off when I'm driving, maybe I wanna roll through some neighbourhoods at drive-by speed with the lights off.....

This is probably why they stay on...

I like xm, onstar, stabilitrak, dic, and my center console. I wanted a GMC because I thought it looked better than any other truck on the market. If I could go back, the only thing I would change would be to get a 2500 HD.
