Hey so i just put a MBRP pro series single side exhaust and a K&N aircharger intake kit on my truck. My truck was the 4.8L engine and i have been looking for a programmer and im really not sure on any brands or which ones are better. Any info on this would be great?

Most people here will recomend blackbear, but I have a diablo and absolutely love it. I'm not sure if it supports TCM for newer models yet though.

And, no, still no TCM support. Only thing with Blackbear, unless it has changed recently, you'll need a second ECM which you swap in and out when going to the dealer. HOWEVER, a blackbear tune will allow you the opportunity to change and tweak many mroe things than a DS tuner.

I guess it just depends on your preference.

Handhelds allow you to return to stock on your own with your present TCM.

Diablosport indicates that their cals are NOT detectable. I have had no indication at the dealer that they have detected it, and, I have had one job done where the Tech II had to be flashed to complete the repair --- albeit NOT an engine related issue.

Not with autocal.

Not with autocal.

^^^ That's really the best way to go. You get all of the customizations from a blackbear tune with the added benefits of the "handheld". So no removing/shipping ECMs and TCMs.

I'm thinking of going that route next year...

You don't need a second ECM/TCM with an Autocal unit,You can reflash your ECM/TCM back to stock with it,and then flash the Black Bear tune back in when done.

In terms of off-the-shelf handhelds, the Superchips Cortex is the only way to go for the GMT900 trucks IMO.

Don't waste your money on the Predator. It doesn't have TCM support (trans tuning) and wont.

x2

have superchips, awesome product
