Black Bear Programming And Monitoring Truck's Performance

I'm fairly set on choosing the black bear programming option; however, one perk to choosing the handheld options (e.g. Hypertech) is that I can monitor my truck's performance before and after the modifications (e.g. horsepower, fuel mileage, 0-60 times, etc.).

Are there cheaper ways to monitor my truck's performance without having to pay for a full-scale handheld? What would you guys recommend?

I would recommend running an Aeroforce Interceptor if you want exact readouts. However, if you went with the AutoCal, you can derive all that info from the logs.

Thanks for the input...I'm learning on the fly here. Given the AutoCal costs ~$300 (similar in price to other handhelds), are there any advantages to choosing AutoCal over the more popular handhelds (i.e. Bully Dog, Hypertech, etc.)? Assuming their performance tracking is similar, the more popular handhelds allow for convenient mounting to dash, etc.

Thanks in advance.

The AutoCal is a custom tuner, so you will receive email custom tunes, based on your data logs. The AutoCal is used EFILive which is a true tuners software, and supports all years and all TCMs. No other handhelds on the market supports all years and TCMs.

We have had many a customer make the change from canned handheld tunes to a custom tune. I am sure a quick google search will give you some good testimonials.
