Handheld Tuners?

Recommended Posts

Looking for input here, I recently changed my gear ratio and need a tuner to correct the speedometer and reset the ABS. Wondering which is better or preferred and why... I am looking at the Flashpaq by superchips, and maybe the predator by Diablosport. By the way the truck is a 2006 with 4.8L, Thanks!

Most people on hear are going to recommend custom tunes because they cost less and supposedly and more power. Me, I have a predator (the best handheld tuner by far!) and I love it, with the predator you can do just about anything, much more in depth than the flashpaq, for sure.

I have had a predator for my 09 Silverado but ended up selling it. I then bought a Superchips Cortex and am pretty pleased. I could tell way more difference with the Cortex but that probably has alot to do with Diablo not having TCM support for my truck. I had a diablo on my old 02 Avalanche and was decently pleased with it. It actually had more adjustments than the Cortex But sometimes that is just more of a headache. I found myself constantly tweaking the settings trying to "get more".

I really have no recomendation for your 06 4.8. Just thought I would give you my personal experience.

the diablosport predator will give you much more adjustability by far than any other handheld device out there... and the best gains...

and on your 2006 truck, you will have tranny adjustments available as well....

plus, with the diablo programmers, you can also get yourself a custom tune made specifically for your truck to get you even more performance over and above the included preset tunes... can't do that with "the other one"...
