Here's a shot of my first pickup-my mom found these pictures and gave them to me.  I'd forgotten about these pictures.  It's a 1990 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 with the original 3.9L V6 (non-magnum) which I bought after I graduated from college:

This was a pretty much loaded pickup 13 yrs ago! Had air, separate bucket seats, am/fm cassette, o/d on-off plus a ram-air vent which opened via a lever under the steering wheel.  Here's the interior:

The engine was a total dog-I think it was rated for maybe 160hp.  Sticker price was $15400. Notice the big rollbar and offroad lights!  Man what was I thinking??  I traded it after 72000mi for a 1993 Dakota with a 5-speed and a 318  It ran alot better .  They were both well-built trucks and I had over 125000mi between them.

I was 15 in 1990

A buddy of mine in '93 bought a new 1/2 ton 4wd Ram w/ a 318 magnum that he raelly thought was the cats meow. I never got a chance to ride in it though. It was a month old when he went through a low water crossing, and locked the engine up.

I was 14, and my first truck is the one you see in my sig.  I had to wait until 2001 to buy my first truck.  My parents spotted me a load to purchase my college car, and it HAD to be a car...so no truck during college.  When I finally had the cash...2001 came the beast!

I remember Dakota's of that vintage trying to compete with S-10's and Ranger's but were never successful despite their larger size due in part to their dog motors (no offense).
