All I Can Say Is Wow....

I met Mr. Justin Gadberry in Brunswick today to get my SD tuned. I could tell right away he had tons of experience in addition to being super friendly. To begin with he asked a lot of questions about my driving habits and what I wanted out of the custom tune. We sat in the truck for about 10 minutes while he downloaded the programming from my modules. Then we went for a test drive so his laptop computer could gather information from my truck. We stopped briefly while he upload the custom tune then we went for another test drive. I could tell right away my truck was tuned. I barely pressed the throttle and away we went. The up shift points were greatly improved and when I pressed the throttle to accelerate the down shifts were much quicker. While I drove around he sat in the passenger seat tapping the keyboard on his laptop. He would look up occasionally to make sure I didn't make a wrong turn. He even took the time help me with a special request to improve a shifting point around 32-37 mph. I was experiencing unwanted shifts while cruising at that speed and he tweaked the shift points so the transmission was content at that speed. When the test drive was over he had 3 or 4 people waiting in line to get theirs done. He never rushed me and made sure I had all of questions and concerns answered before I left. The drive home was awesome. I was impressed with how effortlessly the truck accelerated around slower traffic. Blackbear Performance tune FTW!!!! Thanks Justin. :dunno:

Good to hear, another satisfied customer.

Justin tuned my 04' 4.8 it runs much better than it did. Actually I surprised a Dodge Hemi with it. On a pull he couldn't pass me. It would not do this before Justin's tune. Plus I'm consistently getting at least +1 mpg

Had the tune for about 4~5months - money well spent, especially if you have a cold air and a catback already.

OK, this all sounds good. I hope there is a tune GTG in my area sometime.

I have a couple of noob questions tho....

1. Everyone loves this tune, so why don't the trucks come configured this way from the factory? Better response, better shifting, improved mileage = higher degree of customer satisfaction.

2. I have GMPP CAI and putting on a Gibson dual cat back exhaust. I know the tune will really wake up my Avalanche - but does this void the 100K power train warranty?

1. It's called EPA

2. Yes it will void warranty. Which is why you should buy another ecm and let them program it so you can change out for service etc.

To the OP.... Congrats on the new found "ride".

Still loving it!! Definitely the best mod you can do to your truck. Acceleration is so effortless and if I need to pass someone on the highway it requires minimal pressure on the throttle pedal.

You can do a scan cable tune. It's basically the same thing as the in person tune. BB will send you the scan cable to log the statistics of your truck. You send the scan cable back and then they will ship the modules to you. All you have to do is ship your old ones back, unless you decide to keep them.
