New Takeout Wheel from an 06 Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck. This has the RPO "UK3" Redundant Radio Controls! I would take $125 Shipped.

I also have another one with 15K miles, that I would take $95 Shipped.

Thanks

Travis

I have a 2004 GMC without the DIC wheel. Will this work on my truck or is there more needed to have the steering wheel DIC functions? Thanks

Hi,

You will need a new SIR Coil and BCM Reprogramming to make this Wheel Function.

Thanks

Travis

Thanks,

I know what SIR is, but could you please tell me what the BCM is? Would that have to be reprogrammed by a dealer?

Travis has been a little busy and I will lend a hand.

BCM means Body Control Module. Computer that controls most of the functions in the radio, mirrors, steering wheel as well as other OEM equipment located inside the cab.

A little background (taken from another site) if you are looking to swap the steering wheel and make the steering wheel buttons work:

If your truck was not equipped with rpo code (UK3) which is redundant radio controls, your body controller will not recognize or (turn on) the radio controls. In addition the instrument cluster will not recognize or turn on the DIC functionality. Therefore, your dealer will have to call the Techline Support center. This is not the same as TAC. Techline is for software, programming...etc. They need to explain what they are doing and request a 2 VCI numbers. A VCI number is a new calibration code which will allow your controllers to turn on the radio and DIC controls. They need to get a code for the IPC and one for the TBC. They will then request info from the vehicle with their Tech 2 handheld device. They then take the Tech 2 to their PC loaded with TIS2000 and perform a SPS programming function using the VCI numbers. This will load the calibration into the Tech 2. They then take the Tech 2 back to the vehicle and load the new calibration into the vehicle. They will need to go through this process twice, once for the IPC and again for the TBC using the new VCI numbers.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the Help! Do you think that when you do your Install of the Steering Wheel that you may be able to do a write up, kinda like I did with my Sierra Denali Heated Wheel? It seems there is always alot of questions regarding this topic, and maybe this would help answer alot of the questions here. Maybe even just a few photos would help!

ive got this same wheel.... how tough would it be to replace? On mine the lower bottom left gas button light went out....

Is it as easy as popping off the cover, removing airbag putting on new wheel and airbag?

This wheel would take about a half an hour to replace. Simple as removing the Air Bag, Replacing the Wheel, and ReInstalling the Air Bag.

Not trying to take a sell away from Travis,But you can just buy the switches in the wheel,You don't have to change the complete steering wheel.

what would be the part numbers or where can I get em? I would probably have a backup set that I would try and mod.

Just take note that they did change the color of the lights in the buttons between the years. Some were white others have a blue tint to them. Be sure what you have before you order them!!

They may have changed them,But the part numbers they list fit '03 to '07,so theres only one part number for each switch for all the years.
