so tell us the difference in feel between the 6.0 vs 6.6.

Haven't hauled in any hills yet but the 6.6 barely knows it has a trailer attached. As designed, the 6.0 obviously revved higher but it did the job just fine. The 6.6 just does it without much effort

curious how the feel would be with any wind or getting passed by a truck, etc. if it would move one over the other any more/less

I haven't had the 6.6 in wind yet, but the 6.0 did not move at all when passing a tractor trailer and it took a lot of wind to move the trailer side to side. The 6.0 sucked gas with a headwind though.

I imagine the diesel will handle the same. The difference in a travel trailer to a fifth wheel is night and day for ease of towing IMO

Im still trying to decide on the next rig. If I want to go gas or diesel. Gas will do what I need. Diesel would be overkill but also piece of mind.

If you can swing it, the diesel makes it all so much less stressful. The constant shifting and high revving of the gas motor drove me nuts. The diesel and Allison is a no fuss way to get the job done. I pull a TT that's about 9500# loaded, and although it's not as brisk as when not towing, the truck feels as though it barely knows it's there.

I use mine so little for towing that I often debate it's worth, but each time I tow my TT or utility trailer I'm reminded and it tides me over till next time.

If it's a 2500 doesn't that only give you like 300# of capacity remaining?

3500 inventory was limited !

I understand. That is an issue, especially if you want SRW, which I did too. And I heard they didn't do the midnight package on the 3500's. Not sure how true that is.

I saw one but they give you Michelin tires and not duratrac

Unless the 3500 midnight was a short ru n

I would have loved that option. I had the dealer swap the duratracs for Michelins after two weeks. They were too loud for daily use.

That being said, the duratracs are admittedly much sexier. Ended up swapping the midnight wheels for 20" 5 spoke GM wheels in brushed alloy anyway.
