34'4" from hitch to bumper. Add 2" if I pull the tray out at the rear for bikes or whatever. 2010 Cougar 30RKS

Fully loaded it tips the scale at 8,200 lbs. Glad they have a max trailering package.

Also, just an FYI that there was not a cloud in the sky when I took the picture. There was, however, smoke from the Washington state fires.

here i am at deer camp today getting ready for bow season in a few weeks. This isnt much of a load for her to pull. Trailer & atv both is about 2100 lbs. Plus I always carry a lot of gear in the back ,straps, comealongs, tools, battery jumper were out in the backwoods so if i have a problem its good to have some stuff to work with. Truck has only 1825 miles and i am just feeling comfortable driving a 2500 after 30 years of 1500 series trucks.

Just hauled my buddy's '85 T/A to Leesburg, FL - 1,300+ miles one way. Spent a couple days down there. Man, that place is AWESOME. First time in FL. Some interesting plant & wildlife down there too, lol.

The Silverado made it unscathed, shockingly. I kept the cruise from whipping it up to 5k on every hill, so that kept the oil consumption to next to nothing.

Only a few issues - shorted running lights on the trailer (fixed that at dusk in a VA gas station parking lot after blowing 3 different sized fuses), & the next two issues were related to northeastern roadways. My buddy's tail pipe busted off the T/A and was hanging, halfway there. The northern roads beat it senseless. We had to bust it off to keep it from destroying everything around it bouncing around there. Then the deck of my trailer broke all the welds that I just did last year after the factory ones blew out. Getting tired of constantly repairing this thing. You'd think with all the money our government wastes, we'd have PERFECT roads. HA!

Some pics ...

Dammit ... upload fail. Back to Photobucket I go ...

Photobucket fail. Must be the industry's way of forcing me into buying a smartphone that I don't friggin need. Unsupported format, WTF!! Was supported last month, so what's changed??? Friggin computers ... :banghead:

Hmm ... seems all the pics I sent from FL won't work - I have to send them from here instead! What kind of b/s is that?? I give up trying to figure this stuff out. Anyway, here;s the pics, uploaded a second time ....

Thanks man!

I wish I could afford to be a collector! That T/A is a buddy's - he just bailed out of Massachusetts for better days in Florida. I hauled that down there for him this week. We left Sunday, and arrived late Monday night. I stayed a couple days, then blew out of there on Thursday, arriving back home yesterday morning. I've seen enough of the interior of that truck to last a few months I think, LOL.

The El Camino in my sig I sold a few years back, like an idiot. Should've kept it. Mice destroyed the interior, so I got all panicky that it was going to get worse and worse every year I held onto it (plus funds were getting tight at the time), and sold it in a moment of poor judgement. I've regretted that decision ever since! To replace it, I'll have to shell out double what I got for it. :nonod:

I checked out a '65 Fairlane 500 down there - was hoping to buy something on the credit card (since I forgot to bring more cash with me) and haul it back to MA to flip and make money off of. Thing was friggin MINT. Guy said 33k original miles, and it looked it. Wanted $18k for it! I almost laughed in his face. People are watching too much Barrett-Jackson these days ...

Lol.

Too bad about the El Camino but who knows something may come around. My father in law is a huge fan of the Camino he has been looking for one for quite sometime but either people want more than what he can pay or it needs so much work he that he isnt interested.

My buddy is always buying and flipping cars/ trucks and I wish I had the money to buy some off of him but i'm in the same boat... either funds aren't there or I have no space to keep them. Planning on buying an acreage in a few years so maybe then if the whole "five year plan works out then maybe can start on having my wishlist. lol

Yeah that's the other half of my issue here too - storage. I've got a good sized barn that could fit 5 full sized vintage vehicles, but it's pretty much full now. Never thought in a million years I'd ever fill that thing up when I first moved in. Filled it in 6 years ... I don't want to park the Silverado outside, since I believe garaging it has contributed to it's good running - leaving it out in the humidity at 8 years old is a good way to get constant check engine lights. Got enough on my plate - don't need to be dealing with that! I flat refuse to leave any classic car out in the weather, so there's the conundrum ...

It's just as well, because I'd have to have the funds to buy one first ...

What kills me is I only paid $500 for that Camino back in '00!! Now pieces of crap with no driveline or interior are selling for 4x that.

You'll never guess what my buddy paid for that T/A! $200!!!! It had no keys, and the woman selling it said "it needs to be gone today". He threw out that offer and she accepted!! Talk about the deal of a lifetime. Guess there's always hope I could score like that, but I think I have a better chance of being struck by lighting ... right after winning the Mass state lottery ...
