2009 Gmc Sierra... Bds 4 Inch Lift

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I had a topic earlier debating the CST VS BDS VS Rancho.

Well I've decided on the BDS lift kit. I just dropped the truck off at the shop and it should be done later on today.

I'm opening this thread to show some before and after pictures for anyone else considering this kit.

Here is a pic from my truck sitting stock a few weeks after I bought it...

awesome.

what wheels and tires are you getting? dont forget to take fender measurements so we have an idea of actual height gained from the lift

Well right now I'm actually thinking of keeping the stock chrome 18's... I like them

I'm looking at the mickey thompson 305 ATZ's...

or the Nitto Terra Grappler 305's....

Anyone have some other suggestions that might look good?

the ATZs will look 10000000x better than the Terra Grapplers imo

When the tire says it requires a RIM of

8.5-11.0

What exactly does this refer to? The width of the rim?

I have the 2009 All-terrain package with the 18's.... will these work in the range of 8.5-11.0?

Sorry for the ignorance on these.

I believe the factory rim is 8.5" so I believe it will work :flag:

I looked on GMC webpage and this is what it says for All-terrain rim

18" x 8" chromed aluminum, includes steel spare (available with All Terrain Package)

The ATZ tire I want says

8.5-11.0

Does this mean I can't use my stock rims?? just over half an inch?

I thought I read they were 8.5" but

Will it work... Yes... Even though your only 1/2" out of recommended rim width.. I think you'll be fine.

i agree... i think it'll be fine. keep the pressure in between 35-45 and they should wear alright. (i dont go over 40 in mine)

If you do decide to get rid of your All-Terrain wheels...if it comes to that i will be interested in buying them.

Possibly... if it isn't safe to run the tires I want on them... I would be more willing to buy new ones if I have a buyer for these.

I got the truck in June,, so they aren't too old.

I'll send you a PM

I'm like a little kid on Christmas! Is it done yet? Ha ha...

Lift got done a few hours ago.. took it to get aligned.. ran into a problem,, need to cut about another half inch off the inner tie rod so it can align properly.

But, it looks great! Leveled the truck out and gave it a tad more lift then what a stock 2500 looks like IMO.

Also, we measured the RIM from outer edge to outer edge and it measured as 8.5 inches, even though the wheel is stamped 18x8. So I think I will be fine for my 305 Mickey thompson ATZ's!

Only thing I can think of, is the factory is measuring from the inside (where the tire actually touches).

Nonetheless, I don't think a quarter inch on each side will make a huge difference.

I'll try and get some pictures up here very shortly.
