Ugly Wax Residue On Your Fender Flares?

It's called Back to Black and it's made by Mothers.I used it this weekend and bam,all the ugly white wax reside on my flares and trim is gone.It worked great..Gun

The g/f's Wrangler has a lot of that black plastic stuff on it. I solved that problem by using wax/polish that dries clear.

I follow up with a dressing on the plastic to shine-er-up

Ive been using Mother's Back to Black for a while however I noticed that it will begin to wear off in a couple weeks after application and the residue will reappear. The best solution I have found is to buy a toothbrush with tough bristles, and run it over the residue, the residue just flakes off. Looks really good if you apply Back to Black after the toothbrush.

Here's a little trick that I use.  I use a pencil eraser to remove the wax off of the plastic trim, it works great and permanently removes the wax.

May I also suggest Trim Detailer brought to us from the fine folks at Meguiars(cheap commercial sounding plug).  Actually it works quite well for the front/rear bumpers as well as the black plastic mirrors on my 'Rado.

Can also use the toothbrush trick with Armor-All. Instead of tring to brush it off dry, soak the toothbrush with your preferred dressing.

mequiars spray wax will take it off as well.....or one of the microfiber wax rags.  Or the ultimate fix all.....F@&* it and just paint all the black s*%t.  I had all the handles bumper top etc painted cause i got sick of dealing with it.  Cleans the lines of the truck up immensely.

I'm telling you guys, go spend 39cents at the bookstore for an eraser.  You'll be amazed at how it cleans the stuff off.  I've got a #2 pencil in my detail kit just because the small eraser on the end does wonders for removing wax from plastic surfaces.

I found that Meguiar's "Natural Shine" rubber & vinyl treatment did the job on any wax I got on the Av's cladding - even old wax.  It also left the cladding and rear cover looking good.  I originally bought it for my son's Truxedo - where it also works pretty well.  On that type of cover I have to be careful to apply it evenly or it will streak.

Yes, like the natural shine for the dash/interior areas.  Use it under the hood as well.  I used to use it on the bumpers and other black areas, but switched over to the trim detailer now.
