BF Goodrich Velvet-Ride Shackles

Easy install: drop hitch down, pull bottom shackle bolt, jack up axle to clear frame, pull top shackle bolt, install it all. I've got 33" high floor jack. I jacked the truck up, planted my big jack stands under the frame in fron of the rear axle (HEY, that frame BENDS!) The verdict on the shackles? Pretty darn good. I figure that they take out a lot of the high frequency stuff. The truck rides quieter. It's not eerily quiet like a Cadillac but it's better. The length of the truck and being a 3/4 ton, it still isn't the cushest thing but the ride improvement IS improved. Added bonus, it let the back of the truck down almost an inch to level it out. I think that they're worth it.

Well, this is an old topic, but I didn't see any need for creating a NEW thread.  I rode in a Z71 similar to mine with Velvet Ride shackles and was impressed with just how much smoother and less bouncy the back end on the freeway (has a lot of old expansion joints).  So impressed that I'm thinking about getting these.

However....  the big truck list guys over there claim the back end is now JOUNCY (new word???) when pulling a trailer, and that if one is carrying a load, that the back end sags "embarrassingly".

Does anyone have feedback and opinions on this?
