I am selling my 2002 Silverado to make room for a new 2010 GMC Sierra Crew Cab. I am the second owner of the Silverado and I bought it in October 2003. I have added a few things to it, as you can see, but it is still mostly stock. It has been taken off road maybe 10 times for some light mudding since I've owned it (doesn't look like the original owner ever took it off road). It's also done the occasional towing of U-Haul trailers when I've moved a few times, and has hauled around some miscellaneous things in the bed (typical furniture from the store, home improvement items, or helping a friend move a couch type of loads). Otherwise, it's just been used as my all-around vehicle, and most of those miles were put on it from commuting when I worked 30 miles from the house.

The exterior is in average condition. It's got a small dent and scrapes on the lower part of the front passenger door, which were there when I bought it so I don't know what happened (looks kind of like it bumped up against a pole or something). I tried to capture it in the pictures below, but it's hard to see even in person. The back bumper is also dented on the driver's side, and was pushed into the fender which creased it and took some paint off (I was told this was from the previous owner "jack-knifing" a trailer as he was trying to back it up). I planned on replacing the bumper myself and having the body work done on that fender, but never got around to it, so the spare bumper I got (minus the black plastic trim which I never bought) comes with the truck if you want it. The hood has a few small chips from road debris, and there are a couple of minor scratches along the body consistent with a truck this age. The previous owner had added chrome tubular bed rails that were installed by drilling a couple small holes into the top of each of the truck's bedrails, which is one reason I added the plastic bedrail caps, so if you were to remove the bedrail caps you'd see the holes. The Line-X under rail bedliner is also in great shape and has no issues with peeling or tearing. The current tires were installed in December 2006 and have 34K miles on them currently, and have a treadwear warranty for 50K miles from Discount Tire. All lights work, although I disabled the bulbs in the DRLs (cut the connectors on the base of the bulbs), so you'd need to replace those bulbs if you wanted working DRLs again. Overall, the outside of the truck looks good, and the issues I mentioned aren't really too noticeable, but I wanted to fully disclose everything.

The interior is in good condition. There are no rips or stains on the seats. The rubber floormats were always in, and they show some wear, but the carpet underneath is in great condition. The headliner is good with no sagging, rips, or wear. The center console, glove box, and dashboard are all in good condition and everything works (stereo, 4wd actuators, A/C, interior lights, etc) except that I don't have the key to lock the center console. The Bestop under-seat storage (which is apparently no longer sold) was an outstanding addition because it adds a good amount of interior storage space under that back seat, and it looks like it's stock. There is some wear on the cruise control markings on the turn signal stalk from normal use, so they aren't completely legible. There's also some wear on the driver's interior door handle/arm rest from normal use as well. But overall the interior is in great shape given the age of the truck.

Mechanically everything seems good and I'm not aware of anything that it needs. It runs smooth, and I average about 14/15mpg in the city and 18mpg on the highway. I've replaced the intermediate steering shaft with the newer GM one to solve the steering clunk issues that plagued these trucks, and that solved the problem completely and it hasn't resurfaced in the 2+ years since it was done. Oil changes were done regularly (every 3K-4K miles), and I've been using Valvoline Max Life high mileage oil since it hit 100K miles. The Hypertech tuner comes with the truck, I mainly used it just to adjust for the larger tires I had on there and read any codes that came up.

I have the clear Texas title in hand. As of today, KBB lists the private party value at $10,180 (good) and $9,380 (fair), and I am asking $9,200 given the few mentioned issues on the exterior even though they are minor. I would prefer payment in cash, but can work with you on a certified check or whatnot as long as payment is being made in full (no payment plans, sorry). I work a varying schedule on nights so it's hit and miss when I'm available, so the best way to reach me is by emailing me at [email protected] (it goes directly to my cell) and I will reply as soon as I can. I'm in McKinney, and would be happy to meet someone so they can take a look at the truck, I just need a little advance notice due to my schedule. Thanks for looking!
