Where does the Spare Tire go on my 65 LWB Stepside

Right now, the spare tire I have is sitting in the bed of my truck. Where is it supposed to be? Let me know, Tim

I don't know where the tire goes, but did you solve the tranny problem?

If its a step side it goes in the pocket on the driver side rear fender. A fleetside, it should be attached upright on the inside edge of the bed.

Shannars... No, I haven't solved the tranny problem. Right now, I decided just to drive it w/o od.... sure it gets ####ty mileage, but it only turns around 2700 at 60-65.... not too bad. In the spring, I plan to work on it, may get the computer reprogramed, check the speed sensor, etc. Right now, Im just driving it. I also have some suspension work todo to it. (Too low...)

So back to the spare...

Is there any way to mount it underneath like the newer trucks? What does it mount too on the outside of the stepside? Is there any pictures? I would rather not mount it on the exterior of the truck ( I want to keep it good looking) Let me know.

Also, shannars... back to the tranny problem. Do you know where the vehicle speed sensor would be mounted if it had one? On the tranny? I just want to make sure its wired in and all. Let me know, Tim
