suburban body question

i had no idea where to ask this, but does anyone know when they changed the body style from the box like ones used in the 80s to the newer style like the 89-98 trucks ? hopefully someone understands what i'm asking.

I think (but not sure) the Box-like style was around until atleast the '92 model year.

Yes, I know what you mean. I think it was '92 and I don't know where that number came from, it just seems right in my head.

well i know that the K5 blazers had the box-like style till 91, so maybe its like the K5s ?

I had a discussion with a guy here at work about that just the other day...I believe the change-over occured in '92, so that '91 is the last year of the "boxy" Suburbans, like my '76. That means that body style lasted 18 years, from '73 to '91. I guess Chevy got their money's worth out of the tooling....

thats what i thought. the idea hit me that i could possibly look into a 92 or newer suburban to get the body style i like and the 2500 series which i'm looking for anyways so it opens up another option.. thanks for the help.
