New member with frame question

Hey all. New to this forum and looks pretty good.

I have a question on my 1981 C10 2WD truck. The front frame crossmember that attaches the lower A-arms and the motor mounts; is this thing bolted in, welded in, or riveted in? It looks like its bolted in, but all the junkyards tell me that it is welded in. Anyone have any experience in this area? There is a crack developing around the lower A-arm mounting point and I want to replace the frame versus welding it.

Normally they are welded in, I have never seen one that bolted in. You can probably take it to a competent chassis repair shop and have that area welded up and reinforced. This is a pretty common area for cracks to develop in the frame.
