Anybody out there with a hot engine in 3/4-ton pickup?

Recommended Posts

I don't have a 3/4 ton, but I've got a 1970 C10 that has a massive camper shell on the back, and some UGLY white wall tires.  Looks like a truck an 80 year old man would drive.  Just started the engine mods, but **** if it won't lite 'em up whenever I need it.  Great solid truck!

Does a '76 Suburban that's all original on the exterior count?  All I've done is add an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, DynoMax ceramic coated headers, 2-1/2" exhaust through DynoMax super turbos with a crossover, Accel HEI components and recurve kit, and rebuilt and tweaked the carb.

Oh yeah, and for handling I've got a beefed up front sway bar and added a rear, running on Michelin SUV tires with Monroe Reflex SUV shocks.

I've posted here about a particularly embarrassed, multi-sticker Honda CRX that got a brief look at my taillights....have surprised more than a few folks...

Someday there will be a hotter cam and probably some light head work, but it runs too well now to bother yanking the engine, plus it's my daily driver.

Sound like a hot 3/4 ton ya got there, ever take her to the strip?

Jeff
