What's it worth?

[95 Silverado]

While at a friends shop today I noticed an older suburban along the side of the garage with a "For Sale" sign on the window, they said it's been there a few months and the guy wants to get rid of it. It has a GM 454 crate motor (new in '95), a beefed up 700R4 tranny, NP208 transfer, 8.5 10 bolt front and 14 bolt semi-floater rear(with aftermarket rear disc brakes), 8 bolt wheels, The engine has a pro-jection kit on it with headers. It's an '84 with a badly rusted body,they say it's in good shape mechanically, but it won't pass state inspection. I would like to have the engine and tranny but wonder what I could sell of the rest to make it worthwhile. keep in mind this is in central PA.

I can tell you, that up here just the fact that it's 4x4 causes it's value to baseline at $1500-2000, regardless of mechanical condition and body shape.  4x4's are in high demand up here.

 

Depending on how badly rusted the body is, I would probably wouldn't go higher than $2500 on it.
