I am attempting to make a minor mod that will change my life....
I recently got my first pickup and added a toolbox (Weatherguard saddle box).
Love the setup, but one complaint is no power locks on the toolbox.
Looking at the Weatherguard lock it is an extremely simple design.
I have engineered a way to add a solenoid and make it work but just need to tap into the lock / unlock wire.
Once i get everything working i will try and post a how-to so others can do it.
My Question:
Which wire in the harness going to the tailgate controls the lock/unlock. Appears to be about 6 or 8 wires in the harness. I assume most are for the camera and only two are for the lock.
Any ideas how to ID which wires are the lock. If i had 8 hands i would fire the lock/unlock while i measure each wire in the harness but that would take a while -especially if there are 8 and i have to find the two reversing polarity on lock/unlock.
Thanks in advance,
