I have owned many GMC trucks so I have delt with the radio issues in the past but this one is driving me crazy. Only when apple car play is active and connected to my phone the radio screen will go black and will reboot at random times. Today when I made a phone call, 30 seconds into the call it goes dead, about 20 seconds later it reboots and phone call is still there. My cluster is not affected, I have changed phone cords. Using iPhone 11 Pro Max with latest update. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

2020 GMC Sierra Elevation: I had my battery unplugged yesterday for about 3 hours, and upon reconnecting, the infotainment screen won't finishing booting up, and is frozen on the GMC logo. Has anyone else experienced this before? I called the dealer, and they said it may come back on after driving for a while (but wasn't able to tell me how long) and said it also may require me to bring it in for service. That doesn't seem right; people change car batteries all the time, and shouldn't require a $200 service charge to reboot the screen. Does anyone have any tricks to get this radio to turn back on? I have had my battery unplugged before (although never for this long) and didn't have this issue. I also noticed the screen stays on/frozen even after shutting off the car, exiting, and locking, for about 3-5 minutes (which is also a new problem obviously related). Thanks for the help!

This happened with oe radio and replacing it didn't help. I wanted to replace it anyways so that's not an issue. When I turn my truck on, 10-15% of the time, the radio does not and will not turn on. When I am driving, occasionally it will turn off and will not not turn back on. Usually happens when I actually want to listen to music. It does turn on eventually, but sometimes, it won't turn on for the whole drive and beyond. Apparently it still has constant because it remembers my Bluetooth connection and clock time. This happened far more often with the oe head unit if I remember correctly. I would love to figure this out because it's frustrating. Today it didn't come on when I started it but came on ten minutes later, only to die again when I hit the turn signal. I just got home and idled in the driveway for a bit as I typed this and now it's back on.

The head unit will remain black, can't connect to Bluetooth, use the radio, see anything...but when I put it in reverse the back up cam works everytime!! I know if it'll work or not after I close my driver door, of the "splash screen" doesn't show up it will remain black when I turn on my truck and as I said the back up cam will always work. It has progressively gotten worse, used to be very rare that it would stay black but now it's almost 100% of the time and literally 1/100 times it will work. ihave tried removing fuzes and plugging back in, removed the head unit and replaced with an OEM.. that did nothing. Tried unplugging battery and allowing to reset, gotten the latest software updates and still nothing! Hope someone can help it's driving me nuts! I love my truck but this ruins the experience especially on long rides.

So my battery needed a jump on sunday leaving o'riley's. got them to give me a jump and as i'm driving home, the radio shuts off. now the tv only turns on when I put the truck in reverse. i checked the radio fuse and its good. also opened up the glove compartment and unplugged the blue cable for 15 sec like i saw in a youtube video. I should also add that im able to listen to the radio using the steering wheel controls but only for about 15 min before it shuts itself off.

I purchased a 2021 Silverado Crew Cab High Country 4WD about 4 months ago from Watson Chevrolet in Tucson Arizona. Within week of driving the truck I began noticing some pretty strange sporadic things happening. I started video taping the issues when I could to document what was happening. Ticking noise coming from the engine when cold starting, sporadically have hourglass on stereo saying “loading” it would continue until the engine was turned off and back on then it was OK. “Park Assist” Error message sporadically popping up while driving down the road, Horn honking (three short honks) for no reason while sitting in traffic at a red light. At 900 miles I reached out to the dealer and told them these concerns and issues I was experiencing. The service manager explain to me “the truck has a lot of technology and it just needs to learn your driving habits, you just need to keep driving it” At 11,000 and 3 months after purchasing I get the loud lifter noise, “Service parking brake”message, “steering assist reduced” message, “Service ESC light” and “check engine light” I drove it into the other dealership located in Tucson (O’Reilly Chevrolet), they keep the truck for about three weeks and “replace lifters on one bank and 1 bent push rod” and tell me that they couldn’t duplicate any of the other issues however they did a firmware upgrade and everything should be fine. One week after getting the truck back (11500 miles) I get another check engine light, Keep in mind I can still hear the lifters ticking when starting it first thing in the morning. I take back to the dealer after a week of a being in the shop, They tell me “The check engine light was because there was multiple cylinder misfire and it was the opposite bank from the lifters they replaced” however they can’t duplicate the problem so there’s nothing they can do. They admitted that the computer had logged over 200 misfires on one cylinder and that’s what made the check engine light turned on, then they go on to tell me they can’t duplicate the problem so there’s nothing they can do. I asked them about the ticking noise when starting and the tell me “that’s normal, it’s not lifter noise you’re hearing, it’s the new technology fuel pumps GM is using that’s making that noise” Other issue I have had is the rotors on all four wheels at times will turn blue and discolored as if the brakes and her have been completely overheated. But it’s not the entire rotor It’s only the center inch of all rotors. The inside edge and outside edges look normal. I have a purchased over 11 band new (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota) Trucks in the past 30 years this is by far the worst freaking vehicle I have ever purchased.

Hey guys I'm having problem with my 1995 k1500. The radio/blower/windshield wipers/windows will not work at all....The hazard switch on my truck is broken off and missing....I was driving down the road and my hazards all of a sudden turned on and wouldn't shut off I tried pushing what was left of the button down to make them stop and nothing worked. once I got home I noticed my window would not roll up and my passenger wouldn't roll down. I had to disconnect the battery to get them to stop I ended up pulling the steering column apart and replaced the hazard button along with the turn signal switch. I plugged battery back in and still had no power to those items mentioned..hazards shut on and off though. I replaced my ignition switch and negative battery cable and still have no power to the mentioned items...any help would go a long way!!!

So I posted last week about an issue I've been having for quite some time. I've recently got a big up my butt about getting it take care of, and was messing around with it and discovered something new that may help with the diagnosis. When I push the voice activation button, the system says "ready" then beeps. At this point, if I say nothing it will tell me some of the commands I can say. however if after the beep I say anything, it doesn't respond at all, and after about 30 seconds will say "goodbye" and hang up on me. Now, if I press the OnStar button which uses the same microphone, the OnStar rep can hear me just fine, so I know its not the microphone. Any ideas?
