Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of GM Fleet and Commercial sales, commented, saying. “Bringing medium-duty conventional cab trucks back into the portfolio strengthens Chevrolet’s commitment to providing commercial customers with more choices and one-stop shopping for a versatile lineup of trucks, vans and crossovers.” Navistar reports it will add 300 new employees to be ready for the new partnership and will invest $12 million in plant upgrades. GM is continuing to reform itself into a company that looks surprisingly like the one leading up to the 2008 and 2009 financial collapse during which GM went through a very unusual bankruptcy. In a related story, we recently reported that GM is planning to work with Isuzu for a specific type of truck/cab configuration serving some medium duty applications.
