I know this is going to look suspicious being only my third post but I wasn't sure what forum to join at first. I have noticed a shake or vibration in my new 4x4 crew 5.5 box 5.3 truck it seems to come and go and has been a pain to pin point what makes it happen. I can feel it in the steering wheel, seat and sometimes the gas petal but mostly in the steering wheel. It seems to be most noticeable going up or down hill with very light acceleration but can do it on level ground at cruise speed too. And the fun part is it doesn't always do it to make it more of a challenge to diagnose it. Brought it to the dealer last week and I thought the mechanic was going to think I was crazy but he did feel it too which was a relief also the service writer test drove it after they balanced and rotated the tires and he said its slight, but he felt it too. We scheduled it to come in tomorrow and are opening a warranty claim. I have very little faith that its going to get fixed because of the nature of the vibration and it being so new that there probably isn't any info out there on what it could be. I really don't know what they can do tomorrow other then make phone calls. If I had to venture a guess I'm going to say its in the transmission or possibly the engine. We also have a 2012 equinox and on the same roads there's no vibration at all. Also I have the z71 and man does that thing ride STIFF! Every repair strip in the tar is felt hard! Anyone know if it just takes some miles to get the shocks broke in (2600 on it now)? My 04 was a z71 too and rode much, much softer then this. I would really like to get this figured out because it, along with a few other smaller things is preventing me from loving this truck.

I had my truck into the dealership a few weeks ago for seat movement issues and it seems they added two small clips to fasten the seat cushion to the frame. At first it seemed it may be better (I think it was psychological), but I now have movement in the seat again. I see the clips are still there, but I get seat movement (lateral and forwards/backwards, not up and down) in turns and braking. It definitely feels like the bracket to me as the movement is small but sudden and clunks, not smooth like the cushion is sliding. Every time I get in the seat clicks/clunks a little in a manner that makes it seem as if it is taking up the slack in the bracket bushings or pivot points. Anyone who has had the actual seat bracket replaced have any better luck fixing the issue? is it the same bracket without a fix to address the slop in the bracket? This is ridiculous to have this happen on such an expensive vehicle. I know it is a new model blah blah blah, but things like this fall under the basic fundamentals. Figure out how to make a seat!!! Venting over....Thanks for the help and otherwise I love the truck so far, but get frustrated over such elementary things going wrong.

Truck started to make a squeaking noise this weekend, took it to the dealership on Monday. Dealership called Tuesday and said that they could not find anything wrong with the truck and that this sound is normal. Take a look at this video so that you can hear and understand what I am talking about. https://youtu.be/aERzjGAX-aU Does this sound normal to you guys? I also put water on the belt and the noise was persistent so it does not appear to be the belt. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 2004 Sierra 4.3l v6 that has started to run pretty rough on idle like it wants to bog out, I noticed my exhaust tips black (don't know if that matters). I checked the codes and got the P0300 code random misfire. I have replaced the spark plugs and the spark plug wires as well as the ignition coil, distributor and the distributor cap. That did not seem to solve the problem and I've ran out of ideas. Anyone might have some insight on what it could be that is causing this P0300 code?

My wife and I got this truck ( 2014 Chevy LT 4x4 with the 5.3 ) about a week ago , check engine light came on. Took it to my dealer and they said the Barometric Pressure Sensor went bad and replaced it. Tonight we got the same check engine light and on-star said it was the same problem as before. Any ideas here ? Thanks for the help.

This is my first post so sorry if I’m all over the place. I’ve had my 2014 Sierra slt for about two years now. I got it with 116k miles and I’m at about 174k right now. Since the day I’ve bought the truck it’s been nothing but issues. You name it, it’s happened. Four separate water leaks (sunroof, gps antenna, third brake light, and cab vents), 2 transfer case control modules, problems with the power steering going out, brakes going out at low speeds. A couple of months ago my transmission went out and it also needed various other repairs totaling over $20k. Now my park assist sensors don’t work, my rear doors don’t open from the inside and also don’t lock from the outside, reverse lights and camera don’t work, and it constantly dings at me to service my trailer brake system (seriously, it chimes at me about every two seconds as I’m going down the road, telling me to service the trailer brakes). I’ve gone through and checked every ground I can find and nothing helps. Today I went through every single fuse and relay in the truck. I found a couple of blown fuses and replaced as needed, but still no change. I’m at a loss for what to do at this point as I’m stuck with the truck after all the money I’ve sunk into it. Does anybody maybe have any solutions to any of these problems? I’m desperate for answers, anything helps.

Just picked up my new 14 last Friday (5 days ago) and have had multiple occurrences where the truck will not start. The typical scenario has been like this: 1. Attempt remote start either by key fob or the OnStar remote link app. If using the key fob, the parking lights flash to indicate that the remote start request was received but the truck does not start. If using the OnStar app, I receive an error message that the truck could not be started. 2. Attempt to start the truck using the key and...click.click. 3. Get out of truck, throw something, say a few four letter words 4. Try again with the key and it magically starts. The new software was loaded in the truck as I was in the process of negotiation during the recall and had to wait for the update to come out before the dealer could deliver. I went straight to the dealer yesterday morning after this happened and they have no explanation to what the cause is. They reprogrammed the keys/fobs. I also was carrying my 2nd set of keys in the console, which they suggested could be the cause of the problem?? So I took the spare set of keys out of the truck and crossed my fingers. No such luck however as it happened again this morning. Anybody else experiencing anything like this?

I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 4.3 and lately it's been like losing power when I'm driving down the road it acts as if it stalls and I pump the gas pedal and it turns back on or regains power. I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, speed sensor, mass airflow sensor, spark plugs and also cleaned the throttle body. Do y'all have any idea what could be causing my truck to be acting like that?

Yesterday I noticed that some paint had come off my 6" round steps. I have heavy duty mud flaps. Now when I bought the truck, a 2014 Sierra All Terrain, I was very particular about having 'the least amount of chrome possible'. That's the reason why I went with the OEM black side steps (a friend had recomended against going aftermarket). I'm dissapointed that 18 months after I got the truck, these steps are already looking like crap because (as you can see in pic 2) paint adhesion isn't that great. There's bubbling visible and I am worried another big chip is coming off soon. And after next winter, all I will be left are some ugly rusted out side steps. Is this covered under waranty? Does anybody knows?

issue Service Rear Vision System
Binny posted a topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
This was a nice way to start my day: Display reads "Service Rear Vision System" Now the radio/nav/etc doesn't work. I tried to upload a photo of the error message, but the file was too big. -
I have a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT Crewcab, 2 weeks old. I have noticed that when I have the air recirculating in the cabin, outside air closed off, I still am smelling outside air, cigarette smoke from the next car while sitting at a light, bus exhaust, skunk smell. I also have a Buick Enclave ('11) and my old Silvefrado ('03) which did not permit outside air from entering the passenger cabin when the 'recirculate' button was in use. I is almost like the 'door' is not closed completely. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hey guys, I have a 2017 Silverado High Country and I installed a 6in Fabtech lift with 35in nitto tires back in September 2017 and since then I've been having issues with my cruise control disengaging/turning off at anything above 69mph. When I'm traveling above 69mph, cruise control will turn on and illuminate on the dash, but it wont engage or lock on. Even when I have the cruise set at 65mph and I try to increase the speed to 70mph, it'll immediately cut off/disengage. I took it to the dealership around January 2018 and they told me since the truck has bigger/heavier tires, the computer is reading the wheels going slower than what it reads on the speedometer. They basically said I need to recalibrate the computer to read the new tire size. BUT, a friend of mine also said I could possibly need to re-gear to 4.56 since I'm running heavier tires, which could fix the cruise control cutting off. If anyone has experienced this issue, you help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I Purchased my 2015 silverado z71 crew cab a couple months ago, so far i love the truck accept for one issue that shows itself every once in a while. USUALLY while turning and acceleration lightly at the same time ( lugging the motor pretty much) ill get a very noticable shudder right before the truck FINALLY decides to downshift. Has anyone had a similar issue. Im going to drives my buddies sierra tomorrow and see if i get the same shudder. I have 3600 miles on this truck so i dont think its anything to do with the "adaptive" transmission learning cycle. Ive heard a custom tune can resolve issues but i really hate to do that on this new of a truck, nor do i have anywhere within 400 miles to get it done. New to the forum guys, hope to get some responses, this is my first GM product. Switched from a 2008 tundra with 245000 trouble free miles. Hope i dont regret this purchase

2005 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 Z71 5.3 Gasoline Looking for some help, I’ve talked to a few different shops about the problem I’m having. Basically my fuel gauge isn’t working it always reads empty, and before it was completely shot, it would read normally and shut off, only to come back on a few minutes later. One day it shut off, and never came back on, so I assumed it was the fuel sending unit, so I replaced the fuel pump with a Delphi, I had the same issue so I returned it for an ACDelco because I’ve had experiences with the Delphi pumps being defective, but after I replaced the Delphi with the ACDelco I still had the same problem, I just replaced the Instrument cluster last year so I’m not thinking that’s the problem, the electrical is all plugged in and there is no corrosion whatsoever. Like I’ve said I’ve taken it to shops and everyone tells me the same thing, that they’re mind boggled and can’t figure it out.. I’m stumped too. Ive looked at everything I’ve thought to look at, maybe someone can approach this at a different angle and give me some ideas of what I can do to find the issue. thanks for taking the time to read and reply. if you need to know anything else about the truck I will answer.

2014 5.3 z71 4x4 1300 miles 3.08 gear ratio Has anyone had an issue with a loud popping noise from under the bed or around the back wheels area? This is most noticable in the morning and when you are accelerating from a stop around 5 - 10 mph. Dropped the truck off this morning but wanted to see if anyone else had the issue in case they come back and say they can't replicate or find the problem.

I wanted to start a seperate topic for this. My fm reception is to the point where I don't use the radio. The HD switches in and out to where you have to turn it off as well. I'd be looking to replace the radio with an aftermarket head unit but the integration with the my link probably makes it impossible. Please post up if your having issues.

On two occasions now while taking the truck out of 4WD the power seats starts to close in on me and the gas and break pedals start to move. Dealership today couldn't replicate it and I have been searching and found nothing. Am I alone on this one?

issue Transmissions Issues/Problems
OUSux posted a topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Who else is having a transmission issue? I saw the thread about hard shift into 2nd, but towing yesterday at 65 mph the transmission literally jolted the truck like it fell out on the freeway, scared the sh*t out of me. Also under acceleration it feels at times like it cant find the right gear, hesitates a bit then finds it. Also when decelerating, letting off the gas it paused then hits. Wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues. Ive taken it twice to my local dealership and both times they say "Sorry, we couldnt get it to replicate for us, here are your keys." -
First off, I did a search and the only thread that appeared was the 41 page "Shake or Vibration" thread. But after looking through about half of it, nobody appeared to have a problem similar to what I'm observing. Since I've taken delivery of my Denali in December, I've been noticing a slight vibration in the floorboard when accelerating, and then at certain RPMs. I've had tire and balancing issues before on other vehicles, and this is definitely not related to the tires or even speed - my truck rides smooth as glass. My problem is related to engine RPMs and slight vibrations and is only noticed at my floorboard. The vibrations aren't too bad, but the issue is that my feet (mostly left and right heel) start going numb on moderate to long length drives. When I was younger I had a job as a bike assembler using power tools all day and I would experience the same numbness/tingling in my hands after a long day of building bikes. When the vibration occurs, I can generally let off the gas a little and it'll go away. But it's present much of the time. It's so slight that I didn't really care, but now that it's causing my feet to go numb, I can't ignore it. Has anybody else noticed something similar? It feels like maybe a motor/transmission or body mount is bad. I'm going to mention it the next time I'm in for service, but wanted to see if anybody else was experiencing something similar. Thanks.

We we had some strong storms roll throught the DFW area yesterday for a while. When I finally got out to my truck, there was a nice puddle of water sitting in my All Weather floormat. Now I know why GM sells these - to keep your carpet dry from the leaky roof! There was several ounces of water down there = a large puddle. I traced it up the inside of the dash, up the A-pillar, and to a wet headliner. NOT HAPPY!!! This is the second time this has happened in my new truck. The first time was a few months ago and only a little amount, so I thought it might have been a fluke. Though I did bring it to the dealership to have them look at it. They spent at least an hour in the water bay, most of the time with me helping, trying to find a leak. They first suspected the sunroof drain, but rulled that out after several tests. Then looked around the front window, but couldn't find anything. But the window couldn't be the cause with the location of the wetness in the headliner without a strong headwind (like while driving). Both occurences have been while parked at work for a long period of time. Then I mentioned reading some issues with the OnStar antenna, so they ran a strong hose right up on it for several minutes - nothing. I told them I'd keep an eye on it and come back. Obviously it wasn't a fluke, and obviously there's a problem. Does anybody know what's going on? Why is there a gap in the OnStar antenna seal? For those that have had this fixed, did the dealership do anything different than just replace the antenna? Is there a new/better antenna design? Did they apply additional sealant? Is GM doing anything to address this? Has anyone applied sealant to the gap to fix this problem themselves? When they were looking for my leak, the did partially drop the headliner to inspect the underside of the roof. The antenna was installed tightly. I'm just curious if anybody knows what the real problem is? Or what the real fix is? Thanks.

Just actually stumbled across this page while browsing coloradofans. Jeff from Dallas Texas, 2018 Colorado 4x4 LT, basically Stock as it's my daily. Also have a 2018 Camaro ZL1. I need some help, before I start looking at all of your trucks, mods, other cool stuff.. (copied this from coloradofans.com, also from a few subs on reddit..) Hi all, need some advice- Let me preface this with, I am not trying to get anyone in trouble nor an I trying to throw anyone under the bus. I just want my Colorado fixed. I appreciate anyones feedback as I explain the story. 2018 Colorado LT, 4x4, 30k miles.... About three weeks ago, I had an appointment at my local Chevrolet dealer, which is a very large dealer in the Dallas/Fort-Worth metroplex. The truck has a very weird sounding, only can be described as an intermittent, yet ANNOYING and LOUD squeaking/rubbing sound coming from what sounds like the front of the truck. I showed up to my appointment, and the service advisor and I went for a ride, and he said that he could barely hear the sound, but I was able to hear it as clear as day. He also pointed out that he heard it when we accelerated, and when we braked. Nothing when we were coasting, not using the brakes, etc. He told me that I would have to leave it with him for a few days, or get there early on a Saturday for his guys to take it in. I didn't have the ability to do that at the time, so I told him I would reach back out in about a week or so. Fast forward a week - I was to be traveling so I was going to leave the truck prior to leaving the DFW airport. I ran some errands in the morning, and after getting the truck up to operating temperature, It is not making the sound, at all. Unfortunately I did not have the time to deal with this at the time so I went back to my house, and hopped a ride to the airport. Once I got back, and started my routine I noticed that the noise is still back and I can still hear it as loud as day. I made an appointment for 8:15 AM on last Tuesday. I showed up at 7:30 and they got me checked in. We took it for a ride around the lot, and the service advisor heard the noise. He got me right in. the shuttle took me to work. About three hours later he called me and he said - and please bear with me, I am no mechanic and my terminology may be off - "There was a seal in the transfer casing that was rotted..we fixed it, blah blah..and now it is not making the noise, OH, and you need an oil change. Want that while you're here?". Hopped an uber back to the dealer on my lunch and drove back to the office. Everything seemed fine. I got out of work around 5pm that day and went to the grocery store, sure enough, the noise is still there, and louder than ever. I am getting frustrated at this point. I reviewed the work order only to find out that it mentions nothing about fixing anything, only that the tech could not duplicate the issue I described. At this point, I am very hesitant to go back to that dealership, so I reach out to some other local enthusiasts for a referral, and I make contact with someone who works at a dealership about 30minutes south of where I live. I was to stop by Saturday morning, and ask for his buddy the service advisor. No problem at all. I stopped in right on time, met with the advisor, we took it for a ride around the lot. Sure enough, there it is! The noise on the stop, and on the go! He heard it, I heard it. But he told me that they won't get to it until Monday because the suspension, front end guys, etc, won't be in. I say OK, Whatever it takes. I also say, hey since I am new to town and need my registration switched, can you guys please do a safety inspection? He says yeah no problem. Another $35 uber back to my apartment. Today I get a call. And now, I am being told that the noise I am hearing is the noise of air going into the engine, and it's louder because I have a K&N Blackwing Cold Air Intake system. Which makes absolutely zero sense, since the noise only happens on the stop and go, and it's also a grinding/rubbing/squeaking noise. However, at this point.. I am not arguing. Because I have a short temper and I really don't want to be mean right now. You catch more bees with honey than vinegar. I just picked it up, and it's still making the same noise. The intake is not causing the issue.. and I don't have the stock one as I just moved here. I'm not a mechanic, but that's the stupidest **** I've ever heard. I have had intakes on all of my cars. There's one on my 2018 ZL1 camaro, no noises like that. I had them on my 2016 SS, 2015 C7, etc.. Never had any issues. The only COMMON issue here is that much like in the past like I've dealt with Pontiac back in 2009, the dealership is using any kind of excuse to not have to do any work at all. (Example - in 2010, broken ball joint on my 2009 g8 gt - they blamed it on my roto-fab engine covers hitting the hood, when in fact, it was a MAJOR TSB..) So a couple of things. 1) Where in DFW can I go to get this fixed 2) Should I even bother calling the GM customer care number.. because I am SERIOUSLY SICK OF "NO RENTALS BEING AVAILABLE" and having to pay for an uber. It's going to cost me $36 to get to the dealer tomorrow to pick the truck up. 3) Any other advise. Thanks in advance.
