I’m looking at the possibility of replacing the puny 24 gallon fuel tank on my ‘21 Silverado crew cab. I think GM really missed the mark when they decided on this size tank as the only option. I understand this is an EPA-based decision, but Ford and Ram both offer extended tanks as an option. I’m tired of filling so frequently . The only solution I can come up with is to buy an aftermarket diesel tank (offered in 43 ga capacity) and swap out the factory tank. Anyone had any experience in such a mod or have any suggestions??

Has anyone found a good fix for keeping fuel filler neck free from water and or ice? I went to get gas today for second time in new truck and saw ice after opening gas door. I skipped filling up and vaccuumed out any ice below first gas tank opening. If ice water can get in that also is saying it isn’t air tight which also isn’t good.

Hey Everyone so yesterday after filling up my tank on my 07 Silverado 1500 Classic V6 to almost full I noticed gas leaking from under my truck pretty badly on the right side of the gas tank. Only happens when the truck is on. I recently have replaced the gas lines that go to the engine. Since there was a leak there prior and it stopped leaking gas for about 3 months. For a couple weeks now my truck has smelled like gas when you walk around it and also noticed it felt like the truck was struggling to start everytime i get in it but there was no Check Engine light and were no leaks until now when I refilled the tank. Ill attach a video of were it seems the leaking is coming from. It is leaking on the passenger side of the tank towards the front half of the gas tank. Any help/advice is appreciated, Thanks. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ejGyfnc2DoX2NcBD8

Unable to fill gas tank
Paul LeCouffe posted a topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Recently I had trouble in getting the gas nozzle into the gas tank to refill. The problem is that dirt and debris and water getting into the gas filer pipe. In western Canada the weather and dust gets into the gasless filler opening . Once water get past the first flap and is stopped by the second flap it freezes and you are up a river with out a paddle if you have to refuel . Great just 1800 off warranty and for some reason the garage had the part in stock. This is a problem and will allow dirt and water getting into the fuel tank. We need some kind of cap over the opening to prevent this, The gas cap offered by Chevrolet looks nice but will not work.
