So I have 10k miles on my 2.7 liter. Haul a brand new 29' RV. 5800 dry weight. My question is I get very bad gas mileage driving 65 mph on the freeway. Average 9 mpg. W/O RV I get about 25 mpg. Is this typical for others? Last time I forgot to push trailer mode button...and noticed the instant mpg was much higher. When I pushed button immediately down shifted. Wondering if it's hard on truck and tyranny not to be in trailer mode. Thanks for the time.

I recently purchased a 2013 Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.3 crew cab and am averaging 13.6mpg. I understand it's a truck, but I figured it wouldnt be that terrible. I use cruise control and coast as much as possible, but still have the poor mileage. It has 117,000 miles on it. I have 33x12R20LT Trac Grip M/T Thunderer tires and XD series wheels. I feel like I should be getting better gas mileage than this. Suggestions?

I am looking to add an elevated idle feature to my 2018 Chevy sliverado 3500 duramax Dually. My truck is currently not set up with the pto feature. I currently idle my truck for about an hour a day and I am wanting to add an elevated idle to get my truck to operating temp faster to prolong the life of my truck. What are y’all adding to the truck for aftermarket parts to achieve this since the dealer is saying it’s not possible with gm parts. What else are y’all running for tuners to increase mpg that will work great with a fully deleted truck.

Looking at crew cab short bed 4x4’s with the V8’s. I just can’t wrap my head around not having low range so it’ll either be a Z71 or a Trail Boss. Been watching prices and I’m seeing Custom Trail Boss trucks starting to get close to the prices of the LT. As in within a grand or even less. Anyone bought a Custom and regret it? I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 4x4 and my wife has a 2017 Yukon 4x4. Both have the 6L80 transmission and hers has the Ecotec 5.3 V8. Very happy with that engine and transmission combo and even with less power my ‘11 moves and drives well with the 3.42 gears. Will I miss anything with a Custom instead of a regular LT Z71? 6 spd vs 8 spd? Gas mileage? Something else?

I have a 2015 Chevy z71 5.3. Gets horrible gas mileage. Doesn’t matter if i baby it around or go balls to the walls. Only gets a good consistent 12-13 mpg. Any ideas? Programmer? Little tricks?

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 Vortec with about 211K miles. Over the past 5 months or so I've noticed the MPGs have TANKED. Be aware this is a Regular Cab 2WD! Early spring last year I was getting about 15-16 MPG with 75% hilly-city driving. Summer came around, I was still receiving 15-16 MPG. As of today, on my last fill-up I averaged 13.4 MPG. Previous two fill-ups were in the ~14.5 range. I very rarely pass the 2000RPM rev-range. I have a code that pops up every once in a while for a Downstream O2 sensor. I have a pending code for a UPstream O2 sensor. I've heard the Upstream sensors have a large play on MPG? Trucks rear end fluid, engine oil, and transmission fluid were changed May 2018. I also cleaned my Air Filter, MAF and Throttle Body about two days ago to attempt a quick fix. Any tips will help. Things I've also tried: Seafoam (2 weeks ago) runs wayyy better Marvel's mystery oil (mid-summer) did not change at thing...

I am a long time GM customer and currently own a 2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid truck. It has been an ok experience but just recently the truck started to do some strange and unsafe things. It started out revving up without pressing the pedal or hesitant to accelerate after stops and then moved on to stalling in the middle of driving and would give me a warning of REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SERVICE STABILITRACK AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL but would only do it every blue moon. Here recently I was leaving somewhere and the car begin to shake and shake and then stalled out after those codes popped up. I called the dealership and set it up for an appointment. They got me in and the day I was taking it to them it gives me the reduced engine power warning and I noticed the car went from a rough idle to an even rougher idle increasing more and more as I'm driving. Finally I hear 'CLUNK' and then all of a sudden its not just a rough idle, the engine is shaking VIOLENTLY. I turn the car off. Other times when the car would give me the warning of engine power being reduced, I could turn it off and wait a second and turn it back on and it would magically reset for a random time period before it did it again. I was about 2 mins out from the dealership so I made my way there and as I'm pulling it the engine starts to do that crazy shaking thing...everyone literally stops and stares at me, probably trying to figure out if I'm about to blow up! They get it in and the tech is super alarmed by that shaking and said he had never seen or heard anything like it. They pull the codes and replace the throttle body position sensor under an extended coverage offered by GM. After they fixed it, I'm notified that one of my engine mounts broke and I now have to produce $1,000 to fix it!!! The engine mount is what broke during the engine freak out during the 20 minute drive to the dealership because I heard it! When I get my car back it now wont go into hybrid mode anymore and its idling super funny... up and down...up and down and I can now feel every shift the engine makes and the start up and turn off even rattles now and my engine ran so smooth before this you could balance a penny on the engine! I'm so upset because GM says this is my out of pocket expense. However this only occurred because of their defective part! I'm taking it back in whenever the dealership calls me back(been waiting for hours) and they will see why the engine is idling unevenly and "recheck their work". I'm so sad and after talking to a GM rep who so rudely informed me that they did their part on fixing the throttle body and to just shovel out $1,000 that is not not their problem, it s actually a point of frustration. My husband and I have own 6 GM cars that were a pleasure to buy and drive but we will never buy another GM car again!
