  1. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 7-10-2019 The 2020 Enclave Premium and Avenir trims from Buick will up the ante this coming year. Buick is offering massage front seats in these trims. Massage seats have long been one of the benchmarks we at GM-Trucks.com look for in a vehicle that claim to be luxury vehicles. Two others are a heated steering wheel and Android Auto. “Buyers are choosing the Buick Enclave because it is everything they want in a premium crossover with its distinct styling, quality and driving dynamics,” said Phil Brook, vice president of Buick and GMC marketing. “For the 2020 model year, we’re upping the comfort with available massaging seats, bringing in a new and different look for customers with Sport Touring and enhancing our in-vehicle technology to provide more of what these customers want.” The combination of Android Auto, massage front seats, and a heated steering wheel are not available on any current Lexus, Rolls Royce, or BMW vehicle sold in America. Maybe someday they will earn our luxury designation...
  2. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 3-19-2019 GM's import brand, Buick, is slashing its prices on the most popular vehicles in the company's lineup. Each of the company's top-selling models are discounted by double-digit percentages. The Encore subcompact crossover makes up about half of Buick's total sales. Buick is now offering discounts of up to $6,276 a whopping 23% of its new-vehicle price. These are 2019 model-year vehicles, not leftovers. The Envision two-row crossover is now being discounted by as much a $7,015. The Enclave is being discounted by a staggering $9,423. Buick is running television advertisements tied to the March madness hoop tourneys to promote the fire sale pricing. There are impressive deals on the Regal and Cascada and also the Lacrosse available. Check out Buick's website for details on the deals being offered through the end of March.
  3. Our take on the crossovers from GM is that they will be changing and they will be more aligned with the competition's model sizes. It is too early to tell how it will all shake out.
  4. GM also announced it is recalling 90 (yup, just 90) 2016 Silverados and Sierras because a mounting stud for an airbag sensor was improperly positioned during assembly. All 90 were built on October 13th and 14th. Again, this was during the period of the voting for the new contract, in this case just before the vote. The defect also occurred on the Tuesday and Wednesday following a Monday holiday, Columbus Day. You can check right here at this link to see if your vehicle is affected by either recall.
  5. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 1/6/2016 General Motors is recalling 2,633 Acadia, Traverse, Enclave 2016 models all made at the Lansing Michigan plant. The affected vehicles could have a defective weld in the third-row seat assembly that is a safety concern according to NHTSA. The welds were applied during November from the 6th to the 12th of the month. A few days before that the Union that represents the line workers held a vote on the new contract. It narrowly passed. 43% of the workers at the plant voted against it. The period also coincided with a holiday (Veterans Day) and a weekend. This is almost certainly a coincidence. Recalls happen so often now, and often to so few vehicles it is hard to know what we should highlight.
