  1. I have tiny little specs on the windshield of my new truck. 850 miles. I have had this before on cars with lots of miles - I think it’s caused by sand/dirt after a lot of driving. When the sun hits it, the glare is significant. But, how can this happen on something new? I bought it with 9 miles two weeks ago. I did take one 600 mile trip. But, I can’t imagine that caused all the specks. Any ideas?
  2. Had my truck worked on at a body shop(dent fix and new windshield) then straight to a proper detailing. I assume one of the two disconnected my batteries (L5P Durramax). Now, the buttons and controls on the steering wheel do not respond. Confirmed with both shops, nothing was disconnected from the steering column. Everything else, horn, dash, lights, radio, etc. All function correctly. Only the stero paddles, and menu nav buttons do not work. Scanned all the modules for codes and received back 2 codes in the Instrument Panel Cluster. DTC 1: B3622-39 Steering Wheel Controls Signal Circuit - Internal Malfunction - (No ****** Sherlock) DTC 2 : U1510-00 LIN Bus Lost Communication with Device 0 - (Ah yes, Device 0, obviously). I am not sold on the clock spring still as I don't have any SRS module codes. Repair manual says those codes together is a short to ground. Cheryl on-top was this YouTube video, Anyone have enough knowledge to help me figure if it's a bad module or a cut wire?
  3. Just the other day I started to notice a vibration/rattle noise coming from the front passenger side around 70mph. It almost sounds like the windshield, or what you would expect something rattling against glass to sound like. I can’t pinpoint where it’s coming from, but’s somewhere within the vicinity of the passenger side dash/windshield/headliner area. Sounds more like it’s around the headliner area. It it mostly only seems to happen at higher speeds (70+mph) although today I did just today hear it at 60mph for the first time. My guess is maybe the the windshield is leaking some air since it happens at higher speeds??? Because going over bumps doesn’t seem to have any negative or positive impact on the noise. Anyone else have any issue like this, or any guess as to what it might be?
  4. 2018 2500 hd, my windshield washers spray low on the windshield. Can they be adjusted? Does not appear so. Thanks
  5. 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 (SRW) Duramax Crew 4x4 WT model 6 1/2’ bed. I sideswiped an embankment and damaged the driver side starting with the headlight assembly (which is toast) all the way back to the rear bumper. Luckily as far as the eye is concerned it’s not really all that bad and it’s all on the lower panels and quite livable. But have to do headlight and they want $650 for that puppy!!! In an attempt to save money I am very curious because next to it I also own a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 regular cab 2 door, WT model 8’ cargo bed. It’s already beat up and it’s just a secondhand truck I have for doing things and would gladly swap parts and not care about how that truck looks! Did they do a model swap in 2015 and have two different 2015 versions cuz always been curious for sometime now that whenever I look up parts they always say 2014-2018 OR 2015-2019??? Why the overlapping years? Would think it would be 2014-2018 and 2019-??? Anyway can anyone tell me if the following body parts can be swapped or if there is a website that cross references such things? Looking at it with the “eye” they look identical and would be a perfect fit but know how things like that go... I can supply both vin numbers if that helps. 1) Windshield 2) Front driver fender 3) Headlight assembly 4) Rear bumper Not worried about the trim as in chrome or black. 3500 has chrome rear step bumper and 1500 black step but would actually prefer the black anyway! Hard one to decide is the headlight assembly as once again 3500 chrome and 1500 black but other than that are they identical as far as fitment is concerned? Thanks!
  6. Since I started working with the company I'm currently associated since last April I've had a 2016 Silverado. Every now and then the fluid comes out but 98-99% of the time it doesn't. When I took it into the dealership to get some basic work done on it I had them check it and of course it worked. They said it was probably frozen, which makes sense, but it also happened a lot during the summer. The washer fluid has been topped off and it still isn't working. Any ideas? Thank you!
  7. Has anyone taken delivery of a new vehicle that had a distinctive marking on the windshield? I purchased the truck new and did not see anything when I drove it off the lot. You can only see it when the light enters the windshield a certain way. Pic attached. I have tried a clay bar with no success. Any other ideas out there? If I can't remove it, I am going to seek a warranty repair. Thanks in advance.
  8. I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 LT2, I bought it a week ago (got a steal, $15,000 and it's a crew cab!) but one of the reasons I was able to negotiate such a good price was because the windshield wipers didn't work and it wasn't just the fuse so the dealer didn't want to try to figure out the issue. After little research I discovered that occasionally on some trucks the engine fuse box has a wiring problem so it needs to be replaced. Easy fix, right? I buy one on eBay for $50 and replace it last night, takes 3 minutes. Turn the key to ON and the wipers work. Great, all is well I thought... ...then half an hour later I go to my truck to drive to a friend's house and when I turn the key to START the truck doesn't respond at all. I'm assuming my transponder key was tied to the fuse box somehow. I swap the fuse boxes and it starts right up but again, I have no windshield wipers. One option I have is to tear into the fuse box and repair the broken wire for my wipers but I would literally have to drill it out of its casing so I'm not trying to get in that deep. I would rather program the key to the new fuse box. But here's the catch 22, you need one programmed key to work before you can program another spare key. If I swap the fuse box and my wipers work, my key won't work and I can't program it or another spare. Is there another way to program a key?
