John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 4-26-2019 Forgeline Motorsports, the premium wheel manufacturer known for lightweight and strong forged aluminum wheels have introduced a new wheel for light truck and SUV applications. I'm sure these types of questions are asked daily but I'm wondering if 2020 18" Trailboss wheels will fit my 2021 Custom that currently has the stock 20" wheels on it. Thanks! -
Has anyone done this yet? I know in the T1 section there's a couple threads on mounting K2 wheels on the T1 trucks, and the calipers being wider and the need for a minor spacer in the fronts. With that, going backwards, there should be plenty of clearance. Any pics? I can find K2 wheels on GMT900 and older trucks for days. I was looking at either an 18" RST set, or the 18" accessory wheel that looks like the Colorado ZR2's wheel. At this point, I'd even look at a picture of 20"s as well.

Ok first I want to apologise if this thread has been done. I just started my account today. So I bought a 2016 Silverado 1500 LT Z71 4x4 with 37k miles a few days ago. It has a 5 or 6 in RC lift and 35x12.50r20 MasterCraft courser MXT tires on it. And the Hostile predator wheels. My question is, I don't know if the truck has been geared. Tuned. Or calibrated by the previous owner. The dealership doesn't know. The truck doesn't feel "sluggish" to me personally. I drive past the digital speed trap in my town and if I'm doing 30 on my guages the reader says 31-32... On the highway at 70mph my tach reads the notch under 2k.. so 1800?.. when cruising at 30-35 my tach reads around 1100-1200. I find I get in town with A LOT of stopping and going around 13mpg and that's driving very conscious. I notice it shifts around 2500 and then lower in the higher gears like 2000 then 1500.. but seems to chug along nicely around that 1200 mark. Also. My V4 mode has never turned on once. Not sure if that's due to the current cold northern Ohio climate right now. Or if the previous owner has a tune on it and disabled that feature. I just don't want to spend the money on a tune and calibration if I don't have to. When I floor it it gets up and goes fast imo. I don't floor it often at all. It doesn't pull or tow or haul much. I'm a maintenance engineer in a flat Ohio town of 50k ppl. So I don't think I'll regear because it won't be working too hard. If I could get some folks to shed some light on my curiosity I would greatly appreciate it. If all else fails. I'm buying a good tuner I guess... Thanks guys. -
Currently running Atturo Trail blade XTs - Nice looking tire, a bit loud and showing signs of what looks like dry rotting after 2 years. I want to get a new set of all terrains or hybrids but not looking for a mud tire on the stock 22" snowflakes. Leveled and running spacers. Open Country A/T III is my first choice, followed by the Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek. Size wise, I would go for a 33x12.5x22 or a little smaller (285x45 r22). Any other options out there I should consider? Please post pics if you have a nice looking A/T tire setup on 22s. 2019 sierra 1500 SLT

My good friend (an F-150 owner) told me that if I was going to get rims, I should always go OEM manufacturer with it instead of going after market. He said, "aftermarket rims look ghetto". I went on Chevy's website and they have a couple of sets of 20" and 22" rims that I REALLY LIKE. Haven't seen anything comparable on line. Does anyone know of any sweet aftermarket rim companies? I don't want to get the Chevy OEM's cuz they're SUPER EXPENSIVE!!!

Hello I dont know if this allowed in here but i will soon have some 2020 RST factory 20inch take offs wrapped with nitto ridge grapplers in 275/55/20 with more that 50% tread left that i wont need as i will be getting new wheels and tires soon. Anyone in GA interested? New the rims are 395 from Detroit wheel and tire website may be cheaper somewhere else let me know. And Nittos new are 1000. So all new this is a 2600 dollar package not to mention TPMS so i will consider taking 1700 for the set. Sorry i dont feel like shipping out of state unless you do all the leg work and tell me where to take them to drop off within reasonable distance to me.. Atl area..... Otherwise i can meet half the distance between me and you. We can work out details if interested. Thank you V/R Greg

Wanting to get bigger tires on my truck, installing a lift kit as well. Can I stretch 285/55/r20's on 20x12 rims with -44 offset? Has anyone does this? Also will this effect my tire life any reviews would be awesome. (Leveling kit recommendations would be awesome as well) -
Snapchat-2110446941_1_1.mp4 I got Silverado 2018 Ls single cab with BF Ko2 tires factory size, gonna lift the front 2.5 inches , so , i intend on putting method wheels, but confused with the size of it. What do u recommend? Is the tires size ok with the 2.5inch lift? Tire size 265/70R17 By the way the front lift is Motofab. Hope i can get answers.

Can't seem to find any good side profile pics of the Ultra Butcher wheels on a Silverado! Anyone have any pics to post? I'm really leaning towards this wheel but want to see what it actually looks like on our trucks. Thanks in advance!

Hello all. I own an 18 Silverado 1500 LT , double cab, 6’6” box, 6 spd transmission, I have opted to put 26” status alloy empire wheels with tire size of 305/26/30. Stock transmission gave out. Stock Transmission went out. They said torque converter and pump went out then everything else went with it. Was able to replace the entire unit with a remanufactured from GM. 1 month later, back to the shop (dealer). They covered the repairs because it was under warranty but if it goes out again they won’t because they believe it is the rims causing the trouble. However they will cover if it goes out with stock wheels. Which I will be putting back on. Has anyone else experienced issues with this type of truck and 26” wheels? I did research the “Unsprung weight” makes some sense, however only the transmission gave out, not my drive shaft, drive shaft knuckles, diff, just the goofy transmission which I know the 8 speed has had their share of ongoing things. How is it that a truck that is capable of towing 9k lbs has issues with no load on 26” rims. Pulling a payload in the bed of the truck and pulling a trailer should still have the same effect. If I can’t tow anything with the truck, then what is the point of a truck. I have went back to stock rims to see what would happen. Anyone with info ,thought , something sketched on a cocktail napkin would be greatly appreciated. I do thank you all for your time on this. I have attached the service ticket to this post.

Looking to upgrade the stock wheels and tires on my '19 Sierra 1500 (extended cab, 4WD). I can get away with just blocks if I go with 33" tires, but need a lift if I go to the 35" tires. I don't want rubbing...but also don't want to get too aggressive on the lift. It is suggested that I go with a 6" lift. I don't do any offloading and I'm not trying to "act" like I do. I just love the look of the bigger whee/tire on this truck. Looking for suggestions from those who went with the 33" tire vs the 35" tire and what size lift you used (if you went with the 35" tire). Just throwing this out there so I can get some feedback from those who have already "figured it out." Thanks all! -
Set of 265/65R18 BFG All Terrain tires on Ultra Wheels. Came off 2016 Canyon. Tires have decent tread on them. One has a scratch on the sidewall but is not deep( see photos) Wheels are in good shape, shine up very well, one has a little flaking around the rivets but not too bad ( see photos) Asking $800.00. Wheels and tires new were around $2000.00 Nashville area. 615-516-5915

Hey ya'll, new to the forum. I recently put a rough country 6 inch suspension lift on my truck with 22x12s and 35s. I figured that they would fit but they ended up being too big and hitting the outside of my fender. I am looked on wheel sites and found people and better luck with the 33s. I did the norcal mod to pin my fender back to make more room and trimmed the bottom of my front bumper. Just trying to figure out if I am still going to have problems rubbing the exterior of my fender. -
Anyone have experience fitting 22” wheels and tires on a stock canyon Denali? Not sure if I need to lift it at all first. Thanks

I currently have 22" wheels on my '18 that I would like to know if they fit the 19-21 models. I have read that some fit and others need spacers depending on the wheel model. I have the ck160 wheels. Has anyone tried these wheels to the T1s?

Hello everyone, I am brand new to this site and this is my first post. I was hoping to get some thoughts. So this last week a ordered a new set of wheels and tires for my 2016 silverado 1500. It has a 2" rough country leveling kit and that's all for suspension modification. I ordered 20x9 moto metal mo970 with toyo a/t II's 275/60/20. After a few days have passed I'm starting to feel like I should have gotten bigger tires. Does anyone by chance have pictures of their trucks with 275/60/20 wheels and tires? I really would like to see it, maybe its not too late to change my order. Thanks!

So I'm kinda new to this whole work on your own car thing and I have a 2005 gmc sierra that has started to squeek whenever I drive from what I can tell it's coming from the front drivers side tire my first thought was maybe a wheel bearing but not sure haven't done much troubleshooting or research yet just didn't know if anyone else might of had the same problem

Hey everyone! I have been browsing the forums for about 6 months now and finally pulled the trigger on a 2020 RST about 3 weeks ago. I am looking to get some black wheels with some all terrains before winter. I am leaning towards OEM black wheels of some type as I have had better luck with OEM wheels holding up to these Minnesota winters. Does anyone have these 18" OEM wheels (84641199)? I would love to see these on a vehicle! I was also thinking of finding a set of Trail Boss wheels but I don't care for the looks of those as much. Lastly I found a few of these sets on Ebay, they appear to be my current wheels but in Black. I can't seem to find anywhere saying that these came from the factory in Black, but I think they look great! Thanks everyone!!

My first post here, I tried search but found no results, so here is my question: Is anyone running 17" wheels on a lifted 2015+ GM SUV? Wondering about any brake clearance issues, etc. I see that the spare is on a 17" rim, so with the stock steering knuckle and brakes they obviously work. But what about with the replacement knuckle of a 6" lift? I currently have a 1990 V2500 Suburban 4x4 that I have owned for the last 22 years, and I am finally ready to go newer. I am looking at getting a 2016+ Yukon XL Denali. I plan to add a 6" lift and 35" tires. My experience with tire and wheels is that in general, the more sidewall, the better the ride and the more flexibility in airing down for four wheeling. Plus I'm an old guy and not a huge fan of the look of giant wheels with what amounts to a big rubber band of a tire on a 4x4. And after reading all the complaints about noise / buffeting / thumping / vibrations on this newer K2xx platform, I want to minimize that too. So I am thinking of 17" rims with 35/12.50/17 or 315/70/17 tires, and would like to confirm somebody has run one of these combinations on a 6" lift. Thanks in advance!

Disclaimer: I need a lot of help and don't know what I'm doing besides the research I've done thus far. Which is mixed to say the least. I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado with the stock 20" wheels. I have stock Z71 suspension. Stock Tires. Live in CO and blew a tire on the way up to a mountain. Riding full size spare right now, but between that blown tire and a bolt clean through another that is still holding air, I think it's about (well past) time I get new tires altogether. With that comes the choice to go ahead and get my other changes done I'd like as well, including a level kit, smaller wheels, and larger tires (Pathfinder AT 285/70 R17). With that in mind, I'm trying to do it cheaply (I know, f*ck me, first mistake). I found some used MB Wheels TKO wheels on Craigslist off of a taco for hella cheap and picked em up without doing a ton of research (second mistake). They are 17x8.5 6x5.5, which sounds good. Where it starts sounding problematic is the lugs and bore. These wheels are M12x1.5 with a thicc bore size at something around 106mm and obv the Silverado is M14x1.5 with a bore size of 78.1mm. Offset is 27 stock and this wheel is -6. On this offset topic, I don't even know if this will be a problem or not. (possibly third mistake?) My question is, will these wheels function safely on the Silverado if I purchase 60 degree acorn lugs at M14x1.5? What else would I need to do to make these work? Hub Ring? Offset? Am I being a complete moron? Should I just resell the wheels and scrap this? Just brought home a 2020 LT with max tow, regular bed, some cabin mods. Can I put 17s with mud rubber on for the season and not incur tow/suspension/drivetrain problems? Newbie question, appreciate your input.
