  1. Hi everyone, I’m new to this forum and I just want to get a good idea of how many miles everyone’s getting out of there 14-18 5.3’s / 6L80 combos and what type of maintenance y’all are doing to get there. I have 90,****** now on my 2016. I follow my service schedule to a T. Trans fluid and filter every 22,500 and engine oil every 4000. What’s everyone else do to get there trucks up to high mileage
  2. Wondering if anyone has had similar issues. I’ve had multiple problems out of my 2020... only has 9,000 miles and purchased in August. I’ve had nothing but issues with the dealership saying they can’t replicate, etc. I have to hold my steering wheel slightly to the right to drive straight. I’ve checked the tire pressure, tires have been rotated at dealer. I’ve heard of people having alignment issues straight from the dealer. I’ve drove it in different lanes, highways, back roads all the same. It’s like I have to constantly correct the steering. If I let the wheel go it goes straight for a short distance but then I have to correct again. Just doesn’t drive as smooth as when I first bought it and seems like the steering vibrates some. Any ideas?
  3. I have a lot of questions for anyone that has done the on3preformance kit. What modifications did you have to do/ move things out of the way? How much power did you make in stock fueling? How long did it take u to install? And any tips before buying/ installing?
  4. GM is presently leaking information on their 2020 and 2021 trucks, specifically Sierras and Silverados. Wow, they look beautiful ............ but the body work hides a truck full of problems. I think they need to take a step back and reevaluate the crap they are throwing our way. Their adds promote all kinds of wonderful technology both mechanical and electrical. It all sounds so wonderful, in an idealistic way ... but it just doesn't all work as promised. Our VERY EXPENSIVE trucks are nothing more than dolled up scrap metal. Our engines are failing prematurely, brake systems continue to fail, ProTail Gates don't operate as promised and leak every time it rains. Even simple things like a simple back up cameras fail to initiate on a regular basis. Our computer screens exhibit either the blue screen of death or a totally black screen. The servicing dealers scratch their heads as they don't have the answers we all need. I spoke with the manager of the GMC dealer on Long Island where I purchased my Sierra SLT and his exact words were, "GM is putting too much technology into these vehicles. Technology that is not proven, tested or properly supported. ..... ( he went on to say ) They ( GM ) build them and we "try" to fix them. We don't know what to do or how to do it" My own truck is 5 months old and I have not had one week of trouble free use. I get calls from the GM Customer support line on a weekly basis asking what's happening and I tell them about my woes. AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I want my truck fixed once and for all, I want my warranty extended. On no less than 5 occasions I have made appointments to have my Sierra serviced, only to drive 35 mile to my dealer and find out they don't have a technician available, or I'm given some other lame excuse as to why they can't honor their appointment obligation. What is the purpose of making an appointment weeks in advance if this continues. How many of you are undergoing the same or similar experiences. Please use this forum " Lipstick On A Pig" as your thread to vent. This is in hopes that someone at GM may wake up and start to care.
  5. How many 2019 GM truck owners following this forum have actually read their manuals? Not just a section here or there, but the entire manual? I am wondering this because I have been following the new generation of GM trucks since the first announcements were made. I read many rave reviews, and watched all the online reviews and comparisons on the new trucks prior to placing an order during the 1st week of December. As time passed, and the new trucks were rolling out of the dealership doors in large numbers, more & more "issues/problems" started to pop up in the forums. These trucks are sophisticated well beyond any previous generations. The systems in my loaded '15 Camaro SS pale in comparison to what's in these new trucks. Our '19 LTZ CC with 6.2, 10-speed, Max Towing, Performance Upgrade, and Trailering Camera packages is due in this week, but I downloaded an owners manual from the Chevrolet website so that I could start to familiarize myself with how everything worked. The Chevy & GMC websites also have many instructional videos that show you just how everything works, and how different systems integrate with each other. Much to my surprise, at least 2/3rds of the forum complaints with the new truck can be attributed to owners being unfamiliar with systems and settings. In many cases, the owner has a choice of what systems they want operational, and several choices of how they want them to function. Many of the ERROR messages were simply due to owners not following the instructions in the OM. What made things even worse was their dealer being just as unfamiliar, trying to troubleshoot a "problem" that wasn't a problem, just simply operational ignorance on the part of the owner and their dealership. Maybe GM should have stepped up their dealer training, and dealerships should step up their customer training. One dealer near us holds monthly new vehicle training sessions. The new trucks have also had their share of genuine issues, but a thorough understanding of the manual may have helped some of those owners to better understand how each system is supposed to operate, which may help the dealer troubleshoot the problem. These trucks are much closer to the Jetsons than the Flintstones. BEST OF LUCK WITH YOU NEW TRUCKS!
  6. 2010 Chevy Silverado So I’ve just bought this truck, and when I try to start it the starter will sometimes stay on after the Motor fires for a few seconds. Then it has a very uneven idle. THEN when I rev the engine it wil rev up then drop down below normal idel and almost stall. This will go away if the truck is warm. Now the only thing I have done since getting it is to pull the pipe off of the purge valve next to the fuel tank because it is broken. I’ve ordered a new purge valve and will install it as soon as it gets in. Is it possible that this is causing some sort of low fuel pressure or something? Has anyone else has issues like this?
  7. Curious to know who in this forum has the highest mileage truck. Just took delievery of my new 2018 truck with the 5.3 V8 and 6 speed tranny and wondering how long I should expect it to last? Coming from a Toyota with about 350k kms I have set the bar pretty high haha. Feel free to post the year of your truck with the # of miles and what repairs/replacements you have done to date. Trying to get a little thread going about mileage and what people have been able to get. Since this is a 2014 forum I'm not expecting massive numbers, but I know some of my friends with Rams that have had engines and transmissions break down at 50k-80k kms (moment of silence for Ram owners) Ford seems to be doing a bit better in terms of major issues. If there's already a thread regarding this issue please redirect me to that one
