  1. So I was wondering what is the best quality lift for the money under $2000 for my 2018 silverado since i plan on buying it at the end of my lease and i always plan way tooooo far in advance for things like this. So here is my idea. I have dropstar 655bm 20X10 -25 offset on 33x12.5 toyo RTs on my truck leveled 2 inches at the moment but as soon as i fully purchase the truck i want to fit 37s. Although the 8 inch BDS and SuperLift say they can fit only 35s ive seen plenty of guys running 14 wide -72 offset on 35x15.5 tires on a 8 inch lift and fit so why cant i get a 37x12.5 on my 10 wide. So what lift would you guys go with in my situation. Im mainly looking at the mcgaughys 7-9, BDS 8inch, Superlift 8 inch. What one do yall think is gonna be my best bet. Thank You.
  2. Hello fellow members, I was hoping I could get some assistance from y’all? I am considering getting the 4” BDS lift on my Silverado 1500 and am struggling, do I go with 35’s or 33’s and wondering if I could ask for members pictures who preferably have a BDS 4” Lift on 35’s and 33’s. The wheel size I am going with is 20” and I am going to go with Ridge Grapplers if that info makes a difference. I greatly appreciate your input, -Big E
  3. The wait is over! FINALLY it seems that all of the manufacturers have released their lift kits. So besides the 2” GM lift, who out there has put a RC lift or Procomp, or BDS or fabtech on their new truck yet? Would love to see pics as well please.
  4. Looking for input and pictures. considering 4" BDS lift for my 2015 Silverado 4WD. trying to confirm fitment, track width impact and need or no need for front spacers. Conflicting info as far as i can tell. 4" BDS widens track width 1.5" on each side some say stock 20X9 +27 wheels can fit 33X12.50 no problem others say you need a 1/2" spacer in front or rub on UCA. Does it fit, an direct experience or pics showing how much wheels with this offset poke out from fender?
  5. Forgive me if this question has been discussed but I could not find anything with a search. I have a 21 Trail Boss that I want to lift 4" for a total of 6" to fit 35's. I have been looking for awhile now at the available lifts specific to the Trail Boss and AT4 and have narrowed it down to two... The BDS 1805H strut spacer lift with UCA's. https://bds-suspension.com/product?kid=1805H And Rough Country 27550 with their Vertex damping adjustable coilovers. https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-27530c.html The cost of the kits are within a couple hundred dollars of each other. I have watched all the reviews I could find on the Vertex coilovers and they seem to be good. I like the idea of them but I understand they can't be rebuilt so if they fail out of warranty I would have to replace them. Add to that the general sentiment that Rough Country in general isn't necessarily the greatest in terms of quality makes me very uncomfortable putting the kit on my truck. BDS on the other hand has great reviews and a stellar warranty but I only get a strut spacer lift with new UCA's that retains the factory coilover with the Rancho shocks. What are your thoughts, opinions and or experiences? Your input is much appreciated!
  6. Hi Everyone, I currently have a 4” BDS Lift without the DSC coilovers and I’m curious to find out if it’s worthwhile getting the the DSC coilovers. My shop quoted me at $1750 for coilovers and alignment to upgrade my current set up from the BDS struts to the fox coilovers. Now, my confusion is that my current setup rides quite well and I have no complaints (with BDS front struts) but when doing some basic research, it seems like people are speaking extremely highly of the coilovers for on-road and off-road performance. I am someone who spends 90% on road and as a result I haven’t felt a lack of performance from it, but I can’t help but be curious if it’s worthwhile in the long run. Just thought I’d get some opinions. Thanks in advance!
  7. Hello, Looking to upgrade my 2017 Silverado 1500 LTZ 4WD. I am set on the 4" BDS Lift kit with the Fox shocks. Is there any benefit to the BDS Recoil System Traction bar upgrade? Or any benefit to the Rear leaf springs upgrade instead of the 4" blocks? Secondly, I am deciding on whether I should get 33" tires or 35" - Any suggestions. Don't want 33's to look small, but don't want 35's to look to big or not fit. Wanting the Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires and Fuel Rebel 8 D679 20x10 Rims. Any suggestions on the BDS upgrades or Tire sizes is greatly appreciated. First time lifting a truck. Thanks!
  8. Good afternoon all, am pricing out a lift for my 19 4WD RST. Looks like BDS has them for just over $2000, and a dealer can give me 10% to order. So, around $1800. However, that’s 2+ hours of driving to go get it. LiftsKits4Less.com has the same kit but with free shipping. Anyone done business with them? Assuming I won’t get a surprise on anything. anyone else can point me to a website to purchase from? Every dollar helps right now.
  9. Truck was purchased new in November 2014. It's the 5.3L, with 3.42 gears. SLT crew cab short box 4x4 model. I added the G4 Elite Fold-A-Cover week 1.
  10. Hello all! I am hoping someone is in the same boat as myself or even maybe has some intel that I don’t? I am ordering a 2019 Silverado so I have 6 weeks but can not find a lift kit for it. My #1 choice would be BDS but the person who responded to my e-mail was very vague and just said it’s being worked on in R&D. Can anyone weigh in with their knowledge/input? Thanks so much, Big E
  11. Im currently thinking on which lift i wanna get im definitely going with a bds 4 inch lift kit On my 2018 1500 . But whats the difference in ride quality between the normal one Which includes a whole new strut between the more expensive one which has fox coilovers and shocks?? and have any of yall ran either one and how did it feel?? Also can i fit 22x12s in a 4 inch ???
  12. Hey folks, brand new to this forum so forgive me as I am sure I'm asking something that has been asked before. I am on my third Silverado, and for the first time I'm getting in to mods. I'm stuck on lifts right now. I really want a BDS 4 or 6 inch coilover kit, but I'm hesitant about the price, and not sure if keeping my 18x9's with 33's on the six inch kit will make my truck look like it skipped leg day. Meanwhile in searching for alternatives I'm noticing that, unless you intend to get a waiver from the FAA for occupying dedicated airspace, you don't get many of the same options on other kits from rancho, superlift, procomp, trail master etc. as you would from BDS... can anyone provide some feedback or guidance on a good direction to go? I know BDS it top of the line, and ride height and ride quality are extremely important to me. Truck rides like a dream now, I'm willing to sacrifice a little, but I don't want to eff up my truck with a cheap lift. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
  13. Hi all, I am a relatively new member to the forums and a first time truck owner. I've had my truck for about 2 years now and finally decided it was time to upgrade my baby. After months of researching, I decided to start off with a leveling kit, wheels, tires and rode on that for about 8000 miles before I saved up enough to do a lift. As it stands, I decided to go with the 4 inch BDS lift kit with the fox shocks upgrade. I narrowed my choices to Fabtech and BDS after tons of reading on this forum and the conclusion I came to for the price points, BDS made more sense and appears to be more spot on with the suspension geometry. Given that I am no expert, I could be wrong on that, so definitely don't quote me. The shop that did my install is an authorized BDS retailer and as a result, they prefer installing BDS kits on their trucks. One thing I noticed is that most people try to jump up to the coilovers right out of the gates in the name of preserving ride quality and Im here to say that you don't need to do that. Even the guy at the shop told me that it wasn't necessary to do and it doesn't guarantee that you will enjoy that ride quality. I was in that same boat until I decided to go ahead and try out what BDS has to offer before I spend more money on the kit itself. Ride Quality My experience of driving my truck pre-level and post-level - I felt no difference in the drive itself except some amount of additional harshness going over speed bumps. At that point, I expected that amount of harshness, in fact I expected worse based on reading what people had to say about how leveling kits ride. My experience of driving my truck after going from the leveling kit to the 4" lift - the ride is absolutely beautiful. Having driven a friends Yukon Denali, I can say that the ride of the truck is slightly floaty on the road similar to how the denalis ride, yet still very connected (not sure if that makes sense to anyone else but me). I absolutely love the way the truck rides and I feel that it's on par with stock, if not a little more insulated with the added suspension travel that absorbs some of the bumps and imperfections of the road. As it stands, I have driven with the kit for about 450 miles thus far and I have zero intentions of adding the coilovers to the setup. (500 mile suspension re-torquing coming up soon) Another added point of comfort for me is if my ride quality does deteriorate for some reason and the coilovers become a necessity, getting rid of the front shocks is not like throwing away an expensive pair of shocks. I also potentially have the option of adding kings in the event I ever need to go down that route... I hope that for someone out there, this helps make a decision on the kits with the plethora of information available and I'm happy to answer questions about this lift. Daily Drivability With this being my first lifted truck and first truck to begin with, I was really concerned about how drivable the vehicle would be compared to stock. The only difference I notice regarding drivability is making a turn when the wheel is at full lock in either direction feels like there is more turning radius involved, but hasn't been an issue. The bed and the bed steps are still very reachable / usable - I'm 5'8". The sidesteps are a little bit taller to get up to than before but it's not a pain in the ass or to the point where I hate the truck or my decision - I'm going to be keeping an eye out for a good deal on articulating running boards from AMP or RBP eventually. For anyone who enjoys driving fast - I haven't felt powerloss in the vehicle, especially being that mine is a 6.2L. I did definitely notice that there are a few moments where shifts take longer, but Im sad to say I need to address an issue that involves the torque converter and creates a shudder when accelerating as though you're driving across rumble strips but that's a different topic for a different time. It drives fast, feels stable, and is fun as hell. Fuel Economy Impact I honestly haven't had any impact on my fuel consumption since I began upgrading items on the vehicle. This might change over time, but as it stands I get about 20-22 MPG highway and a range of 13-16 MPG City based on traffic levels. Other Notes - 2017 GMC Sierra SLT Premium Plus Package with Z71 Package | 6.2L V8 - Denali Cluster Retrofit - 33" Nitto Ridge Grapplers - SCA Performance 20x9 Black Widow Wheels | 0 mm offset - Blacked out emblems - Rough Country Tri Fold Bed Cover - GM Borla Exhaust with Dual Outlets (There's actually a tilt downward in the exhaust because the dealer failed to correctly install them with the appropriate hangers to the frame - going to be corrected soon) - Black Chrome Exhaust Tips - Rear Wheel Spacers soon to come (BDS lifts push the front track width out, I want to even out the stance) - AMP Research power steps soon to come - Cold Air Intake soon to come Pictures
  14. Starting off I am sure there are threads that answer these questions but I had trouble finding answers, and it’s my first time lifting a truck so trying to be thorough. So I have my 2018 1500 Z71 CCSB that once my warranty runs out I plan to lift it, leaving stock till that day, I’ve been looking at BDS lifts and Zone, the 6” and 6.5” is the height I want to go with. Zone’s 6.5” kit from what I’ve learned is a maxed out 4.5” kit basically. BDS 6” has either the coil over package or the strut spacer package I believe, I have stamped steel control arms for UCA, LCA I can’t remember exactly and will check when I get home. My questions are based toward the BDS option as I do not want to use the zone unless I have to My questions are is it worth it to get the coil over system vs the kit without coil overs, because that’s almost 1700$ more? What kind of installation costs is it typically for a installation? Has anyone had issues since they installed their kit? if I go with the coil overs, should I do the base set of coilovers or the ones with DSC? Id like to have 4WP install the kit so I could have their warranty on the install along with the BDS lifetime warranty, but not sure if they would do the install (I haven’t called them to see about this yet) I’m going to use the custom offsets site to see what wheel/tire combos I can run but if y’all have pictures that would be awesome to see to get a ballpark
  15. So I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a 4" kit for my truck but not sure if I should go with the 4" BDS w/ Fox Coilovers or 4" FabTech w/ Dirt Logic 2.5 Coilovers... Any major concerns with either kit? Also, can I still run my factory 20s without any major rubbing issues or should I just start looking for a new wheel set-up as well??

  17. Hey guys, I've been looking around a few different companies and looking at different lift kit options. Just wondering if you guys had any experience/knowledge that you guys wanted to share. I would love any input. Ive been looking at lifts In the range of 7-9" kits. I dont need a great offroading kit because I plan on keeping my truck a little bit more towards the show scene rather than offroad. I plan on putting 37" tires with 22x14's rims. As for offset im not decided yet. Looking to figure out which kit will best fit me and provide a good ride, with good dependability behind it. I have looked at the Cognito 10" lift & love the way it looks and I love the features it comes with. Im a huge sucker for fox shocks, I absolutely loved them on my last truck. However, the Cognito kits go for anywhere over $5,000 depending on what options you add to your kit. Because of this, I started leaning more towards the McGaughys 7-9" lift. The price is a lot better for this kit, I've seen them around $2,500 range. Although, I also checked out a BDS 8" Coilover kit which comes with the fox shocks and fox coilovers. My last truck had BDS suspension on it & it put up to the constant beating I put on it, great kit overall. The 8" BDS kit falls more around the midpoint between Cognito & McGaughys. If you guys have any previous experiences with any of these companies, I would love to hear any good/bad stories. Also, if you guys have any recommendations for other companies im all ears! Thanks
