i own a 2018 e-assist silverado 5.3L. dont have an honest opinion yet of the hybrid feature but love the truck. i have a cat back exhaust with a flowmaster super 10, throttle body spacer and an air/oil seperator. what i want to add is a cold air intake but have been unable to to find one due to truck being an e-assist (mild hybrid). tried a K&N cold air intake but due to the radiator resovoir being in the way, the mandrel will not fit. On the GM PARTS online site, they have a performance intake (Performance Air Intake Upgrade, 5.3L Part Number: 84794977) that says it will fit my Gas/Electric truck. I went to order and later that day i recieved an email from a salesperson who stated that part may not fit and i should do research before buying. i cannot find anything online that says there is a cold air intake that will fit my truck. Has any E-Assist owners come across an air intake that fits or have installed the GM Part 84794977 sucessfully? Thanks

Hello all. I own an 18 Silverado 1500 LT , double cab, 6’6” box, 6 spd transmission, I have opted to put 26” status alloy empire wheels with tire size of 305/26/30. Stock transmission gave out. Stock Transmission went out. They said torque converter and pump went out then everything else went with it. Was able to replace the entire unit with a remanufactured from GM. 1 month later, back to the shop (dealer). They covered the repairs because it was under warranty but if it goes out again they won’t because they believe it is the rims causing the trouble. However they will cover if it goes out with stock wheels. Which I will be putting back on. Has anyone else experienced issues with this type of truck and 26” wheels? I did research the “Unsprung weight” makes some sense, however only the transmission gave out, not my drive shaft, drive shaft knuckles, diff, just the goofy transmission which I know the 8 speed has had their share of ongoing things. How is it that a truck that is capable of towing 9k lbs has issues with no load on 26” rims. Pulling a payload in the bed of the truck and pulling a trailer should still have the same effect. If I can’t tow anything with the truck, then what is the point of a truck. I have went back to stock rims to see what would happen. Anyone with info ,thought , something sketched on a cocktail napkin would be greatly appreciated. I do thank you all for your time on this. I have attached the service ticket to this post.

Truck Specifications: 2018 Silverado LTZ 6.2 Motor 27K miles Rebuilt title: interior fire damage to left passenger seat, no external damage, only passenger seat and door panel replaced. Warranty: 3RD Party warranty **I randomly get a tick/tapping sound from the passenger side of the vehicle. I've taken it to the dealer multiple times, haven't been able to reproduce it and said everything is in normal operating condition. Took it to a muffler shop looking for any issues with the manifold and was told that everything is all good. Just doesn't sound normal whatsoever, has anyone had this noise or any idea. Please let me know, not sure what to do since it doesn't do it consistently. Videos are attached. https://youtu.be/in0JBBzw574 https://youtu.be/kdfd4TFOmuI

This post was about preventing rust on fenders. I did not get much response so will be reposting in another thread.

Hey Everyone, I am looking at doing a small lift on my truck(18 Silverado LT Z71) mostly for hunting purposes and I am trying to decide between the 3.5 inch RC knuckle lift and the 3.5 inch Superlift. Ive got some mixed reviews some are saying the Superlift runs better angles, some say the RC runs better angles. Some say they would run the RC kit because of the warranty and it rides better, I am just looking for some people who have these kits to give me their opinions on their respective kits. I am looking at these lifts because its my first lift above a 2 inch level and I don't want to spend a ton of money. I go hunting in the fall and fishing in the spring/summer and even with the 2 inch level on my truck now I find I worry about tearing the front bumper to pieces. I don't need or want a 6 inch BDS kit with fox shocks and all the fixins. Just looking for the best kit around 3.5-4 inches in the price range of the RC or Superlift. If anyone is running either of these lifts or something similar I would love your insight. Thanks in advance for the help, its greatly appreciated. Jake
