Thats awesome! How did you get it to fit with the sport bar?

 

I cut the rear 90 degree brackets right at the vertex of the angle. the bar is essentially just mounted right top of the cover, the only connection point is the front brackets that hide inside the bed rail on both sides of the rollup box. 

Thats a great modification since the tonneau is worth more than the sport bar. Any rubbing on the tonneau cover rail from the sport bar metal? Did you dip it in rubber or anything?

Thanks! I was looking for a simple solution that wasn't going to destroy the cover. 

 

The sports bar comes with a rubber felt pad that sticks between the bar and the bed rail, so I left it on and it keeps it from rubbing and wearing on the cove rails. 

Did you have to modify anything in the front bracket? I just ordered my RetraxPro MX today

Didn't modify anything on the front bracket. 

 

There are 2 mounting points on the front brackets. One that connects it to the sports bar (via 1 or 2 TORQ head bolts) and a single bolt that connects it to the side of the bed. I removed the sports bar from the bracket via the top TORQ head bolts since you will not be able to reach the bolt on the inside of the bed with the cover roll up box in place. It may help to keep a flush finish if you use of the side rails that come with the bed cover as a shim while you adjust the front bracket position vertically BEFORE assembling and mounting the bed cover. 

 

Once the front brackets are in place, it should be as simple as floating the sports bar above the bed rails, sliding the assembled bed cover underneath it, then mounting the sports bar back onto the front brackets. Shouldn't even have to remove the brake light wiring harness

Sweet! Thank you for your help. The cover hasn’t come in yet, but I’ll have to copy you on this one and hopefully it’ll be that simple. IMO, this is the best cover/sport bar combo.

Hey looks good! Just offering my set up for anyone interested, but I always wanted what you have now...
I installed a truxedo lopro qt with no modification at all. just cut the foam tight.

I have a question about you bar cutting:
I noticed a bad vibration issue from the mount strip for the lights (flat metal on top of the bar) only when highway cruising at 70mph (or so) and up. Have you noticed this after you cut your mount? Mine went away after I installed a light bar and insulated with foam from the bed cover.

I haven't had any vibrating issues. Just made sure all of the connection points were nice and tight. I kept the slip of foam that comes installed on the bottom of the sports bar just in case it were to scuff up the bed cover rails, but haven't noticed it moving at all.
