The latest press release from Chevy touts the 2016 Chevy Cruze's new 42 MPG EPA estimated highway mileage. Lost in that release by Chevy is the fact that the new 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited Eco's combined fuel efficiency is the same 33 MPG that the former diesel Cruze rated. Both the 42 MPG highway and 33 MPG combined numbers are impressive. The Cruze also uses regular unleaded fuel, which saves at the pump.

Steve Majoros, director of marketing, Chevrolet Cars, commented on the new Cruze, saying, “Offering a maximum highway range of up to 570* miles per tank– you can spend less time at the pump. The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze has more horsepower and torque, and is lighter than the previous generation making it more fun to drive.”

The Cruze diesel is off the market, but slated to return to production after the EPA finishes flogging VW for cheating on emissions. Look for it in early 2017 if things go to plan.
