Texas Auto Writers Show No Love For GM Trucks At Rodeo

OK GM Truck fans, prepare to be pissed off. At the 2015 Texas Auto Writers Association annual Truck Rodeo, GM products did not score first in any category. The new Nissan Titan XD diesel was the overall Truck of Texas. Number two was the Ford F-150, and the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road was the number three overall winner. Just to twist the knife a bit, the Ram came in fourth. In the hot mid-size category, the locally made Toyota Tacoma beat the Chevy Colorado diesel. Let's not forget that a diesel won the overall event, so it is not like Texans shy away from torque.

Digging deeper in to the Rodeo results, GM's exhaust brake and digital steering assist took fourth place in truck technology. The Duramax diesel in the Colorado/Canyon took third place in the Best Powertrain section, but only garnered 9% of the votes. GM did not have a single podium finish in the CUV or SUV sections. GM's heavy duty trucks came in third in the HD section, but as far as we know there were only three entrants. GM's incredibly diverse truck product portfolio did take third in the Truck Line of Texas at least giving some credibility to the event.

You can drill into the results yourself at this link. If you have a message you would like to send to TAWA, feel free to type it out in our comments section below, but let's try to keep it PG-13.
