Trucks have not traditionally been a significant part of the leasing industry according to Swapalease, but that may be changing. Swapalease is a company that specializes in getting people into and out of leases. It acts as a broker to help existing customers find drivers who are willing to assume a lease. The company reports that the Chevy Silverado inventory it manages has jumped by almost 300% in the past two years. Over that period, considerations (searches for Silverado leases on the company's site) have increased 90%. The Ford F-150, Dodge Ram, and Toyota Tundra all also saw increases, but none quite so dramatic as the Silverado.

Scott Hall of Swapalease explained why he thinks this increase is occurring, saying, "I think what you're seeing today is a shift among traditional drivers of trucks who now see the value of strong lease deals available for popular truck models. Furthermore, the typical driver of a truck has always had the mindset of holding onto that vehicle for a long period of time, and truck technology is now advancing and refreshing more frequently, giving rise to the number of drivers who wish to upgrade every few years."
