Most of the mainstream press made mention of it, many getting a giggle out of GM saying "talk to the hand." GM's actual response may not have been so cocky as was reported.

Chevy improved its number of reported problems per 100 vehicles from 106 to 101. That was enough to pass Toyota and Lexus, who both earn a 104 rating. Buick is in the hunt with a rating of 105. The overall winners this year is Kia (86) among mainstream brands, and Porsche (80) among low-volume specialty automakers. Only Kia and Hyundai are ahead of Chevy now among volume brands.

  13. Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon ranked most American trucks

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    6/11/2015

The Kogod Made In America Index is an annual listing of models for sale in the US by "how American" they are. The list, of course, takes into account the location of the vehicle's assembly and its parts manufacturing origin. It also includes the location of the company's headquarters and design centers. This year, GM dominates the list. What we took from our review of the list is that the Colorado and Canyon ar the two highest ranked pickups. Ahead of the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tacoma.

  14. Autoweek tests an unusual Chevy Colorado

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    6/11/2015

Have you ever noticed that most car and truck reviews are of the loaded version of the vehicle? We have. The staff of GM-trucks.com are fortunate to be served by the best media test fleet management company in the U.S. What tends to be put into that fleet by the automakers are the best and most expensive versions of the vehicles they make. There is some justification for it. A writer can only review the Nav and other goodies if they are in the vehicle. However, it can provide a skewed image of the vehicle, particularly if it is offered in a much more basic configuration.

General Motors was recently found not liable for the injuries and lowered value of vehicles produced with faulty ignition switches. The courts found that the 2009 bankruptcy shields the "new GM" from the liability it had when it was the "old GM." GM is offering financial settlement to victims' families in the approximately 100 deaths that were found to be related to the defects.

  18. Equipment World picks Chevy Silverado as best V8 half-ton

    Teaser Paragraph:

Equipment World Magazine conducted a pretty thorough comparison of the half-ton V8 trucks this past month. The Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Z71 LTZ 6.2-liter V8 was the overall winner, but was the fix in? Why compare just V8s, when pretty much everyone and his uncle now considers the Ford Ecoboost V6 the better half-tone engine?

  20. Mid-size pickup market doubles in size in less than a year

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    6/3/2015
If this post were not GM-trucks.com, the image above this story would be a Toyota Tacoma. That vehicle has long defined the mid-size, often called compact, pickup truck market. Things are changing very rapidly in this segment. One of the fascinating things about this part of the larger truck market is that it has doubled in size since last fall. Even more interesting, both of the segment leaders, Toyota, and GM, are presently only constrained in their sales by production limits, which are now at full capacity.

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com

GM was one of the first automakers to release May sales figures this month. It is no surprise they rushed the information to print. Sales have continued to climb with pickup trucks leading the charge. Pickup truck sales are up 30% this month, and it is not just because of the new Colorado and Canyon. The Silverado was up 10% over last May and is running ahead of last year by about 14%. All of GMs trucks and full-sized SUVs are selling strongly with the Suburban up about 20% over last year.
