The motor press is reporting that some 2016 model year Colorado and Canyon trucks have a defect in the airbag that must be repaired. Reuters quoted a GM spokesperson who said "Some of these vehicles have a condition in which the second stage of the driver frontal airbag may not deploy properly in certain high-speed crashes. If the vehicle is involved in a high-speed crash that triggers the second stage deployment of the driver frontal air bag, the second stage of the inflator may not fill the air bag as completely and as quickly as designed, which could lead to an increased risk of injury to the driver."

Normally, GM-Trucks.com can find recalls like this at NHTSA's recall site and explore the details, but according to that site there are no GM recalls this month. As always, if you have a vehicle you suspect may be covered under a GM recall, you can check it yourself here.
