Toyota is moving its North American Headquarters and much of its other business-related entities to Plano, Texas. Plano and Arlington are just 40 minutes from one another, and both are considered Dallas suburbs (sort of). GM's announcement today may be just a tip of the hat to Toyota by GM.
There were two very interesting facts in GM's press release worth mentioning to any GM truck fan. The Arlington plant opened in 1935. That was the first year that canned beer was introduced in America. The first Suburban was produced in 1935 as well. It featured an in-line 6-cylinder engine producing a whopping 60 horsepower.
