If you or your company have been waiting for an electric Silverado 3500 Class 3 work truck, Efficient Drivetrains may have it. The company announced this week that its drivetrain can propel the Silverado 40 to 50 miles on EV power alone. Better, the truck isn't dead at that point. It is a plug-in hybrid, so when the all-EV power is used up it continues on as a liquid-fueled truck with the added benefit of a hybrid powertrain.

Operated as a hybrid the company claims an 80% reduction in fuel use and emissions but says that the truck's performance is not diminished compared to a standard Silverado 3500. Learn more at Efficientdrivetrains.com.

Companies or individuals looking to move away from liquid fuels for their Silverados now have more options. Via Motors also offers electric Chevy trucks.
